Hi all,

There has to be something wrong here but I just can't beieve that guitars, if fake, can be sold so openly.

Has anyone had any experience with www.kennysmusics.co.uk ?

I am not so crazy to think you can actually get a genuine Les Paul for £700, it just seems nuts to be so open about selling them at such a cheap price.

Thanks all,

Gordon.

They are selling new Gibson 08 Les Paul Standards for 599 pounds, which is under $1,000 U.S.? That can't be legit.

Can't find an email address on there for them or a street address for the store.
All the pictures are stock photos.
They say they've been doing it since 2003 but the site was made in 2011.

There are some people on this site who run music stores in the UK and sell Gibsons, I'd think they could confirm that the prices on that first site you linked are probably cheaper than what it would cost to actually get them from Gibson.

Rule of thumb is if it's too cheap to be true... it's not true. It's a template website that anyone could have made. The second site you linked seems more legitimate they list real contact info and have store fronts. Also they have 'real' prices.

But if I was going to buy online in the UK I'd buy from Andertons or a similar fully trusted UK store. Andertons will price check and match any other site anyway.

I am definitely not rushing to buy one o these but thought I should mention it.

Surely they should be reported if they are selling illegal fakes?

Thanks by the way for the replies, For now I am happy with my Epiphone tribute '59. I absolutely love the Gibson AFD though :-(

If they are legit....lets all buy up the stock and sell them on eBay....we would be rich :)

I have emailed them anyway asking for some info.

Guys I apologise, I am not trying to drag anything down.

Like I say I have been in touch and if I hear back from them I will be buying from them for sure.

You have to agree though with Bubbletonic when he says that sometimes when something seems too cheap it probably is.

Again I really am not trying to cause offense here or to spam anything.

Hi. I live in Dundee and there's a Kennys music right here. They've been trading since Sound Control went under a few years back. They have another store, think it's in either Edinburgh or Dunfermline. Anyway, I'm gonna buy one. I've been in there several times and I've never seen a fake once. Unless they've started doing something dodgy. But hey if they are they're right around the corner for me to go in.

The web addresses are not the same, so I suspect the first one "kennysmusics": note the 's' on the end, is the infiltrator. This site is advertising a 2008 Les Paul Standard for £599, which is the price I paid for a new one 20 years ago.

Yeah,

Maybe I have caused some confusion. I absolutely see nothing wrong with Kennys Music and think everything looks great in fact. My post was about Kennys Musics

In the UK a Gibson Appetite for Destruction is above £3000 and at Kennys Musics it's only £599 just seems dodgy but I reserve judgement for sure.

This thread is becoming a mess now due to the posting of two sites... one clearly a real shop in scotland and the 'suspect' site and peopel getting confused as to which of them we're questioning.

It would help if you removed the link to the real scottish store because it's not really relevant and is just confusing people

I have removed the link to Kennys Music and left the one for Kennys Musics. Sorry for the confusion and I definitely am not questioning Kennys Music, they seem to have an amazing selection of guitars.
