There are two types of people in this world: those that like a stratomahoganybraziliantremoloupsidedownheadstock thingy, and those that don't.

I bought a beautiful one piece telecaster but this is what UPS did to it, still played and sounded killer but the crack started spreading

The les paul is the best guitar ever invented in my Humble opinion ! The stratocaster is the funnest guitar ever invented in my low opinion ! The stratopaul that I made ( and by the way I did all the picking of all slabs that are used on every guitar with my name on it and I designed and shaped the neck after Pete cut it out on the band saw and got it within 1/4 of an inch of the end result I also did all the routing on pickups and control cavities and the tuners etc .. ) Pete Paglia did the nitrocellulose lacquer - He is the best ( Martin guitars ) I also installed the reinforcement Rods into the neck under the fretboard and without that this guitar would not function and that friends is the key to my design being more stable than any bolt on or glue on . I resent the idiot comments because it is easy to see that there is nothing idiotic about a 1 piece of wood no neck joint super tone and sustaining guitar that in all sincerity works better than any other wooden soild body guitar on our glorious planet ! Every Luthier or expert said it would not be stable and they would have been right except that they were going on a theory that was 60 years old ! The invention of my super reinforcement rods and technique solved that issue better than I dared to think ! Admittedly the videos are cheese ball and that is the poverty issue - nevertheless the guitar is exactly what I am telling you it is and you probably are afraid to consider because all other techniques of guitar building prior to the rushmore technique of 1 piece have been put to bed and I say that bold faced because it is the gospel truth ! I would almost apologize except - it is true and I would not lie to you or anyone and this has been my whole lifes work not 1 word I say is false . 10 more guitars are being built right now Les Pauls Sg's flying Vees Teles strats barnyard specials - you name it . The old school has been challenged with the most virtueous guitar woods and construction to ever grace our creation and it is exactly what I told Gibson and fender back in 88 when I had the big record deal and they scoffed at my ideas . Hey they did not , just like some of you guys , like me telling them how to build guitars and thought I was a dreamer and I am and thankfully my inspired Idea has seen the light of day , Thank Christ !!!! You know... I used to have a Lado that was 1 piece... I think. Might have been a really great neck through, but it was a really nice guitar. Sold it to Gig Street in Halifax 10 years ago.

:laugh2: Oh no!! Not the old mystical wood thing again...
The only reason why that guitar sustained more than the Les Paul was either that (a) .. The Les Paul wasn't set up properly, or (b). Which is far more likely, it has something to do with the guitars pickups and electronics. The PU/s are probably very high output for a start and God only knows what else is under that pickguard. Nice guitar though.
Old wood and ancient Brazilian fingerboards.?... Yeah and I'm the Queen of Sheba..:laugh2:

I have spend about 30 years in RnD of guitar construction & can stand behind what Johnny is saying 100 %. Many have scoffed at my findings as well. It's rather funny how closed minded people can be & set in there ways as a one way streat. One reason the big boys don't want to mess with it is it $$$$ & timely , not only rare to find large pieces of fine wood as this.

Simple test : play your guitar BBrrgg!!! now touch the headstock end to the wall & play BBRRRGGGGGG !!! not how do you get the BBRRRGGGGGG !!! without touching the wall ???

The other thing with that video is that you notice he's trying to bend and vib the last fret on the Les Paul.. Very hard to do, as your hand is fairly restricted and there's a good chance it will choke anyway, which it is obviously doing in the vid.
The guitar he demo'd has more frets for a start ( Looks like a two octave board ) and he's not off the end of the board, which makes a big difference, plus the shape and cutaway make it much more accessible.
Yes, I'm sure it is a very nice guitar indeed, but all that sustain doesn't come from just being a one piece guitar made from old Brazilian wood.

Just my opinion of course.

The theory is over ! No more wondering if it will work ! No more guessing and no more outrageous claims that it can or cant be done ! The jury is back and the verdict is in ? Guilty ! Guilty of the greatest breakthrough for the modern electric guitar since it was invented ! The antiquated guitar construction that is the best which was the Les paul is now been outdone and is now obsolete as far as supperior construction/tonality/sustain is concerned ! Whether this is easy to except for you or not is not the point and I will not apologize for raising the bar to a better standard in the guitar construction masterworks which will surpass the 60 year old glue on method that made Gibson famous and by the way it WAS the best prior to the Rushmore technique/one piece method . After you get a chance to handle one of these you will imeidiatly start smiling at the tonality , sustain and ultimate guitar feel and play (there is nothing like a handshaped neck for feel) and the instrument with the bends and playability is second to none . The les Pauls I am making will be the most amazing guitars ever produced by anyone anywhere and will elevate guitar and custom guitars beyond the rediculous overpriced late 50's Les Pauls that people are selling or buying for 300 thousand dollars and any idiot who would be stupid enough to buy a old gibson for that much money should be beat with a cat of nine tails untill He begs for forgiveness for being so stupid because these guitars are better than any gibson fender or fill in the blank you name it I am saying any guitar made by anyone anywhere because of the old growth rainforest ( 250 years - 50 thousand years ) quality of the slabs of wood and the 1 piece design ( no neck joint etc ...) which blows away all other previous guitar construction methods ! Now just try to relax and don't get pissed off about it, wake up and listen to what I am saying because this is a wake up call to the whole sleeping guitar industry- WAKE UP . There is no more guessing about what I am saying I have proved my theory so it is no longer theoretical as some one else has commented .

Not to be an ass nor a tree hugger. But aint it a bit controversial to be cutting down 50,000 year old trees to make custom guitars?

if you take fingerboards there is a equinox in the middle which you hold & tap the board Old Brazilian will ring like a bell , some other woods give you a lax lustre thump . Wood makes a world of differences
