It looks like everyone went to Dallas instead of Miami this year...The "Newport in Miami Guitar Show and Festival" was only about 1/2 the size of the preceeding show in April of 2008...I still had a good time...I'm comin' to Dallas next year...That looks like a great time!!

There's also a ginormous guitar show in Arlington, TX (next to the Cowboy's Stadium) on October 16-17th. Billed as "world's largest guitar show".

Can't thank you enough, Rev. For making the effort to come to the show.
Raymond, that is one sweet Junior, my friend. How many times did you
have to say..."It's not for sale" today?

Not a problem Artie, I was going anyway, I dunno about Ray saying its not for sale, but I had to say it too many times on mine. Ray's jr is an awsome axe, ha I even asked him how much he wanted for it
I didnt take that many pics myself as I was so busy drooling over some very nice vintage gear, I am probably going to buy a 55 Custom from a guy in Baltimore in the near future, the thing looked like it had never been gigged but aged so wonderfully and played like a dream.

I hope Nick and Ray took plenty of pics.
Once again thanx Nick and Ray and everybody for a great time.

You are correct, sir. That book is also for sale at his booth. He is a nice man, very cordial...as are all us Texans!:D
(Gil lives in Austin, TX.) I bought the 2010 Vintage Guitar Price Guide, and Gil signed it for me: "Nick and MyLesPaul Forum, Best Wishes". How ace is that?!:thumb:

BTW, my feet and back are killing me...

Great pics, mate! And you are right about Texans - I had some wonderful hospitality when I was in Waco a few years ago. Loved the chicken-fried steak too!

Man sounds like the show has been a great success. I wish I could have made it.

Hey DG, I wonder if Ray's JR has the same distinctive smell yours had? I know it sounded funny to me too, when I had a guitar shoved in my face saying, check this out, this is what a real one smells like. :applause:

ive always gone to arlington instead of dallas and i will tell you...arlington is many times bigger than the dallas show. the arlington show has a lot more exhibitors from overseas and not to mention the overall footprint of the show is about 4 times as big. no kidding.

The Arlington show is bigger than Dallas, but it doesn't have all the concerts.....but that's not why I go anyway. I go to see and buy stuff, but I came home from the Dallas show with alot of money still in my pocket. Much better choice of everything at Arlington.

Hey, Rev.,
Is that '56 custom yours??
I could've swore I looked at the exact same guitar, pickups and all at the Miami show this weekend...It had a sign on that read..."Please DO NOT TOUCH!!"
Beautiful guitar, simply gawgeous!!

I took my VOX AC-15 Heritage (mahogany cab) to the show. We played all of our guitars through it. I tell you what, that is one sweet amplifier. Real old school - on/off switch, no stand-by, top boost and brilliance circuits, pentode/triode switch, 15 Watts RMS, valves: 1 x EF86, 3 x ECC83, 2 x EL84, 1 x EZ81 (rectifier), VOX/Celestion Alnico Blue 12" loudspeaker - 8 ohm. Man, it ran clean, but, I also put a Keeley Fuzz Head in front which made for some nasty crunch. I had not played it much before the guitar show, so we really gave it a good break-in session.:thumb:

I went there today. Plenty of sweet guitars and got to see Paul Reed Smith play. But that $3 hotdog I had was way overpriced >.>
