What companies have exclusive LP product lines? The only ones that I've found so far are AMS/ZZ with their exclusive AAA line for the standard models and Guitar Center with the Tri-Burst colorway for the 60s model. I was wondering if anyone knew of other companies that have things like this?

EDIT: Forgot about Sweetwater

Musician’s Friend Private Reserve in the past has some wild LP’s, but I’m not sure if they still do?

Wildwood has a new "Wildwood Select" exclusive where Wildwood hand chooses tops for their LP Standards at no additional premium, along with a "Dark Cherry Burst" finish option. See below for a MLP forum NGD thread. Suh-weet.

Anyone can have a custom line. you can have your own personal line if you choose (called M2M if you do it). Yamamoto in japan, there is a really good store in Atlanta that I cannot recall the name of, Sam Ash, GC, wildwood, etc. Any dealer who wishes to order a custom line (with a few minimum requirements) can have their own custom versions. Most are small enough that if you do not frequent that store you might never know. The first that really made a splash was Strings N Things in Memphis that functionally started the Historic Reissue market and the custom shop itself. There were other early small stores that figured out that the world wanted a guitar that Gibson simply did not make. A Sunburst Standard LP. Seems odd today since there are so many but for over a decade starting in 1969, Gibson made LPs in nearly every conceivable iteration EXCEPT Sunburst Standard.

Edit--the store in Atlanta is called Righteous Guitars. Really great place if anyone is driving through. Knowledgeable, large inventory--they have rare and new guitars AND they have their own custom ordered models--and their own PLEK machine on site! I was impressed that I walked in and the guy handed me a snark and said play whatever you wish and yell at me if I have questions! And they did not follow me around and had no problem with me picking up some nice models. Prices were very fair. Questions were answered from a very high knowledge level.

Guitar Center also had the G0.....a 1960 LP Historic Custom Shop.... one of the best Historic deals.

Back in the day Gibson made special runs for Strings & Things....Guitar Trader....Leo's Music....and many others.

Gibson has special runs for Japanese dealers...

They have been doing it for many many years. Gibson loves getting dealers large and small suckered in long term.

Ka-Ching!
