and seriously, i reckon that initial fuzzyness on the ZZ top thing is a couple of low output valves being buggered with

    Nice :cool2:

Thanks for making this a very interesting thread, i dont like hunting peoples tone out but this is different, cause i cant get close to it, but i dig having so many channels and am use to the L6. But im thinking the amp can only do modern, with a few poor vintage / dirt options.

To be honest i think the above settings were on a PC amp modulator :hmm: plus i reckon Billy would have experienced all kinds of weird additions to his amp/setup.

Rock the hell outa that floor at practice, looking forward to the tunez and tonez

I should get a marshall and join the real world :p Soon......

Well i got it :D Just had to put the orange twang channel on the L6, turn the presence to 0 and throw the MLP boost in front, also pulled the bass back a little and of course mids up to 7-8. Not bad, one happy chap here :thumb:

Very mid driven and alive, the MLP bost gives a nice cab like feel, pretty kewl stuff! Compression not needed, but might be handy every so often.

Search over :) I found if i keep the sustain on near 0 on the foxx she does the nasty stuff, but not quite right, too scooped in the mids but hey, good enough for now :thumb:

Dont let this stop that demo being posted :D

Sheet.....i DIG IT!!!!! Thanks Man, i real glad you did that, seriously :)
Most of the time id have to roll the Vol back on the Axe but that grind with full output is sooooo close to Billys grind, or at least the grind i hear in the skull.

    10/10 for you sir!

If anyone has any low gain fuzz ideas creeping around their floor and want to mention please do, its gotta be kinda transparent (i know thats a tough one and i can eq it to suit but id rather avoid that and its hard to do sometimes).

Il have to try Zvex out by the looks of things :hmm: The foxx is rockin but too scooped in the mids and too gainy, ill keep her in the metal fuzz licks :cool2: This may be where a BM might do :hmm:

I'm still laughing at the post that referred to their Deguello album as early ZZ Top. Go pick up a copy of their First Album or Rio Grande Mud and that's really nice guitar work before MTV changed their sound forever. And not in a good way to my ears.
