Maybe that's the hidden secret... the "camoflage" to cover that nice top! Nice surprise to find that under there!

Yeah, I forgot about this thread. It's coming along nicely. It's kind of an in your face to the people who said you messed up. Keep up the good work.

I know it's been a while. Haven't really had any time, busy with work etc.
I still have to do some light sanding on the top and the binding needs scraping. After that some porefiller on the back and then clear matte laquer.
I'll try to get this done in the coming weeks but I'm not making any promises. :)

Wow! I'm really starting to think Gibson pays the same for figured maple as they do regular maple. I have heard many stories of beautiful tops hidden under dark finishes., My BFG has a highly figured top underneath the corrugated finish, and djwilbanks found some flame under his BFG gold top.

Duh, and I found oak or something under my Vintage V100 "should-be-maple-cap".

I guess they price for a Gibson is at least somewhat just.

Dude its your guitar do what you want with it, personally I love the bullseye and the buzzsaw guitars. The camo one however looks like something the girl from the Exorcist threw up on, and by the looks of it the top on yours will sweet even with a natural finish. Nice work! :thumb:
