My style! my tone! my style rooted in the blues, r&b and acid rock, blue grass other weird off the cuff stuff. All blended together in my head fueling my imagination. fav. Tones....? too many great players out there through out the decades to say. Funny though most of the ones that come to mind are unknown guys I have either played with or use to go see in the local Toronto music scene.

I'm a hardrock/shredder type. I prefer low output pickups, like an AlNiCo 2 magnet. That way you can get a great clean tone, and your dirty tone isn't 'over the top'. Lets the wood in the guitar breathe a little better, to me anyway.

I'm not a massive tone 'snob' but I know what I like, and what seems to work with my hands and my amps.

    Some of my favorite tones...

    Jimmy Page
    Slash
    Angus Young
    Mike Auldridge
    Joe Walsh
    Eric Johnson
    Ritchie Blackmore
    Brian May
    B.B. Kind
    Stevie Ray Vaughan
    Neil Young
    Santana

Jeez... I could probably go on, but you get the idea.

I'm mostly a hard rock guy. The main influence is Ritchie Blackmore. The Les Paul tone I really like is Paul Kossoff and Peter Green.

I also have a heavy Blackmore influence, also Leslie West,
early Clapton(Cream), early Page, old Jeff Beck, Hendrix
Paul Kossof. I listen to alot more than
them but since they were my High School heros they have
left a lifetime influence on me.

My Playing style is Blues, and blues based rock, southern and classic rock, along with a few other things, the list of my playing influences can go days and not be complete Suffice to say everything Between Duane Allman, Albert King to, Frank Zappa and ZZ Top
I love clean tones and I love dirty nasty distorted tones, dry and lush with a natural sounding verb Veriety is spice and I like spice, well used and disbursed sweetly and as evenly as I can :slash:

Classic Rock, Blues - my tastes lean more to early electric blues though.

    - Mike Bloomfield - with Butterfield and Electric Flag. 'Texas' is still one of my favorite tunes
    - Peter Green - Jumpin at Shadows kills me
    - Clapton - Mayall and Cream years
    - Mick Taylor - Mayall and Stones years
    - Page with Zepplin - amazing, just amazing
    - Slash - floors me that he can be so melodic

The tone I enjoy is pretty much the basic marshall. I have a jmc 2000 tsl 100, it has two crunch channels classic and more modern. I run the modern with my boss chorus. It is pretty close to Zakk Wylde. I am a pretty basic player kinda a FREHLEY/HENDRIX, always trying new things to get better. Influnces would be ACE, C.C. DeVille, Zakk, Really starting to enjoy TREMONTTI very under rated.

hmmm i like to consider my style as a fast pass heavy metal/metal
i love the emgs as i really only want heavy sounds and not really a clean sound, and yet i can still get good solid clean tone from them. that helps when im playing master of puppets infront of 400 hundred people :p

    im a zakk,james,kirk,randy person!

Acoustic it would be the tones of a Sobell Model 1 or 3 played in a Michael Hedges style.

Electric, a Les Paul through whatever it takes to sound like Santana on the Moonflower album. Sheer bliss!

But I have that chicken pickin' out of phase pickup sound happening too with my strat. Then I'm only dreaming of Danny Gatton ( Though he was a Tele guy )!
Danny Gatton - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Then people tell me I sound like David Gilmour when I play. Now, I've listened to him forever, but have never played any electric Floyd, just Wish You Were Here on acoustics. So I never consciously ape him, but I guess it comes through on some level. That's not a bad complement I guess.
