Mine was a 1980 Westbury Standard that I worked all summer to pay for when I was 15 years old. Man was I tickled to death to have it after playing a strat copy for my first year.

Set neck, DiMarzio PAF and SD...

The bottom pic, Me with my first Gibson, 74 Goldtop Deluxe which cost me exactly $327.60 it was on layaway for two and half months , stolen six months later by the guy who took the pic, he was busted, went to jail and made to pay restitution by the judge
My mother threatened to burn this bottom pic so many times because my hair at that point was the longest it ever got she whacked most of it off right after the pic got taken, along with my Goldtop

LOL... mine was a Fender/Squire strat & 15wtt amp set. $150 bucks! lol 6 months to pay it. That was 2001 I believe.

Then I traded it for a BC Rich Warlock for $199. I bought that after seeing Zakk Wylde tear it up on stage.

I wasn't born rich so I these were my humble beginnings. I always keep in mind those days and appreciate what I am fortunate enough to have now.. a modest collection.

It was 1977. I got one of those really nice Ibanez Korina V's (the lawsuit ones) That was a great guitar, to bad it was stolen from me around 1983.

Those Ibanez lawsuit models were pretty nice. I had a friend that had the LP lawsuit model.

My 1st was a mid 70s SG Standard. Worked about 6 months mowing lawns, baling & hauling hay to get the scratch saved up to buy it.

It's been down hill ever since.

My first decent guitar was an Ibanez Goldtop. Behind it is my Blackface Fender Showman stack with Jensen speakers. Total investment:

    Ibanez Les Paul $125 (classifieds)
Fender Dual Showman Head $50 (classifieds)
Bogan cabinets with Jensen speakers $20 (garage sale)

I later sold the Showman stack for $225 because I needed dating money (man was that stupid)

The other gear belonged to friends:
    1960s SG
    1972 SG
    Ibanez Rickenbacher Copy
Aria 335 Copy (that became mine for a short while)
Music Man 130 Head and Cabs (a real ear-ringer)

Later that year I picked up a Gibson Les Paul Junior for $100, so I sold the Ibanez. I still have the Junior and take it out on gigs occasionally. When I bought it, it had been stripped of its finish and chiseled for a humbucker. I routed it for a neck pup, switch and pots, and then refinished it. Its beginning to show its age.

Now, if we're talking guitars, this was what my first one looked like. A Fender Mustang that I got when I was 13 years old:

Those Westburys were GREAT guitars. They were built in the Fuji-Gen factory - I had two of them, but they were stolen.

Here's my first real guitar: a 1972 SG Deluxe. Great guitar, and I still have it.

Bought it at Zavarella's Music in Alexandria, VA when I was 16, i think.

I don't have a pic but my first was a 1960/61 Fender Jazzmaster in Seafoam Green w/Matching Headstock. It cost about $200 in 1969. Sure wish I still had it.

My Gibson Sonex was given to me by my Dad back when I was 6 years old. I bought my first guitar, a MIM Strat when I was 12. :) I'll post pics when I get home from the office.

This is my first real guitar. A Gibson "The Paul". I bought it in 1980 with all 300.00 of my very first income tax refund. I think I had the check in my hand long enough to get it cashed. My father was pissed. I've never regreted it!
