I'm going to move up to a slightly larger board at some point as I'd like to accommodate my Wah + one or two additional stomp boxes. But for now...

Newest acquisitions in the last two weeks, the Red Box and the Full-Drive. Gotta stop...

I plug my guitar and pedal(s) into the right channel of the mixer, then loop that through the Red Box into the left channel. I get a nice, fat sound with what I guess is a normal channel mixed with a signal that has been bi-amped into a cab sim. The Red Box doesn't seem to like pedal output, so if I want to just go mono, I'll use the AmPlug instead, and hook the headphone out into the RB. I'll put that into the mixer and punch R+L on the input.

    Another day, another overdrive ...

Wasn't happy with my EQD Gray Channel tone - it wasn't "bad" per se but was a little too fuzzy for what I was trying to use it for so I needed some more flexibility on my board. I've been riding the gain control on my Box of Rock to get different levels of dirt but always find it best in the "medium" range so figured I'd look for two pedals: either one for higher-gain / one for lower-gain or a lower-gain and a fuzz.

My local store recently started stocking Wampler pedals so I headed down to check out the Euphoria, Plexi Drive and Velvet Fuzz. From the online demos, I expected to walk out with the Plexi and the Fuzz ... and the winners were ...

Plexi Drive was an "instant grin" pedal. Just awesome sounding. Similar to the Box of Rock but higher-gain and "tighter" sounding - so more controllable (at least for me!) at higher gain settings. Perfect.

Velvet Fuzz just didn't sound "good" to me with humbuckers. Loved it with single coils but I play a humbucker loaded 335 95% of the time. So that wasn't happening.

Euphoria? On my goodness, what a pedal. I only tried it out for "completeness" but it had to come home with me. I'm going to be using it for low-gain overdrive / sustain boost for solos but it will do way more which is great as it future-proofs me: next time I get the itch for a new OD I can just switch up the settings on this!

So, there we go, almost half my board is now overdrive pedals but they all sound so good I don't care! Plus all the ones I switch on/off a lot are on the front row now so happier stomping all round. :)

IKR It used to be almost exclusively about 10 years ago. Only the OC-2 and ES-8 currently. Just too much good stuff out there these days.

Updated last night - It's always evolving. Never ends...

But after I got it done and checking all my cables, my tap quit working. Up next, Polytune is going to be traded for a Polytune Mini, OCD is going to be traded for money to go towards a project Squier Tele and I might relocate the transmitter back to under the board.

Ha! Thx so much. I’m such a dope!!!! Nails his sound though. I’ll change it later tonight. The g2 is so simple and so sweet for anybody contemplating it.
