The real deal '58 serial 8 6787 Montrose Burst on top.
My CC#28 Montrose #121 on the bottom.

I thought it would be fun to see how close the CC is to the Original it's made to copy
On mine the flame is real close but the color not so much (it could be the lighting and camera of course).

Let's see yours compared to the original..........don't be shy.....:D

I personally think my Skinnerburst (bottom pic) is close in color, flame and cross grain.

Thank you sir:cheers:...........I am really surprised how close these CC models are to the original,.....especially when they were to produce upward of 300 each,.......

Have to state that my Skinner isn't a CC though. It's a Bonamassa sig. of the Original Skinner he owns.

All the pics of 0 0289 are so totally washed out it makes all the CC's look so much darker.

Some are really close, like yours and mine IMO. Others I have seen are "not so much".

One thing that pulled me to my Skinner was the looks compared to the Original but that was only the first step. After playing it was the deciding factor and it wow'd me, to say the least.

Just saying but I have not bought another guitar since!!

Which model is 0 0289? Is that the Beano? If so I agree. There really are not any great pics of that Clapton Original.

I agree! The Shanks run had some great guitars but it varied widely from pretty flamed to super plain. Compared to the Original is kind of "who knows".

I will say many of the Shanks CC's do not look anything like the Original based on the pictures you posted. The Original Shanks seems very plain but many of the Shanks CC's seem to have decent or more flame. The Original seems to have pretty much no flame going on, just killer grain wood!

I don't have any flame really, and there is some on the upper on the real one. However due to the pictures being washed out the remakes look a 100 times darker

That's a CC#7 in my sig and here it is again....

But agreed with Crotch.....the ting that is similar is the way the wood has that grain feature ...

top figure notwithstanding, I think they got the color very very close on this one-

    Original-

    My CC-

They for sure got the neck right/better to match the original on this one, as my measurements are very close to the real deal from what I've found.

IMG_1181.JPG https://imgur.com/a/cAyqlHere is cc28, looks nothing like the original, or other cc28 's which is the norm for Gibson. If your guitar looks like the original your lucky.
