That's right the accuse comes on here accusing those (accuser) of wrong doing without proof or otherwise is consider slander and major liability that can get Alex sued big time.

So rather use the Miranda Rights of the Right to Remain silent (some people don't have the capability to do) and that anything can and will be used against in court of law (and the court of public opinion).

How is publicly posting about preemptively banning someone for an off-line incident avoiding liability? Let's face it; anyone looking to buy a set of pickups ,from Rod, will see the stickied thread. Are we supposed to believe that won't directly harm his business?

IMO, an entity looking to avoid liability wouldn't directly engage in behavior that could directly harm a private citizen's business/livelihood.

I know it won't be discussed but at least don't insult our intelligence, LOL!

While I agree that there's somewhat of an issue there, the fact is that both of these clowns have a bad habit of self-incriminating and becoming extremely volatile at the drop of a hat. I think Alex and the mods are right to ban them and avoid the liability that someone might say the wrong thing to the wrong person causing a shit-storm of epic proportions.

That said, I think Rod not being a presence on the forum might actually improve his business. :naughty:

I agree that people here wouldn't have been able to stop themselves, LOL! Should that really be the standard for banning?

I'm willing to go out on a limb and bet everyone here has something embarrassing they could be teased about. Not me, of course. :)

Only if they kept it to themselves and not go ranting and raving.

When MLP has a legal responsibility to try him, your complaint might be fair. Otherwise, opinions are being expressed -- judgments are not being passed, in the context of comparison to a government.

For full disclosure -- I don't know if he's guilty of the current charges, but given his past history on forums, I'm not inclined to give him the benefit of the doubt.

    Sorry.

I thought you meant the rest of us, not banned individuals.

Well, being teased for some embarrassing skeleton in your closet is different than being teased about what the banned members are accused of doing.

Let's also not forget that both of these men have been accused of attempting to defraud people over guitars and duplicate forum accounts (and these issues, despite overwhelming proof, are continually swept under the rug) and at least one of them has made overly threatening comments about a forum member and made very uncomfortable statements about girls under the age of 18.

And I'm not worried about the forum members as a whole smelling blood and becoming a mob, I'm worried about the members who were banned being the type that might... say... threaten to beat a female member of the forum to death with a baseball bat if he should ever see her in person.
