That Explorer is just WOW. The Jnr I've got covered, ditto the Esquire, the Firebird is cool so on a list somewhere, but man, that Explorer.

From my perspective, I see FOUR pickups!

And yes, I'd need them all!

    I respectfully disagree. :) :) :)

Neck pickups are indispensable to me. Would rather have a Special than a Jr.

PS - Again respectfully, and NO, you can't get a neck pickup sound on a Jr no matter what people claim. Jrs are AWESOME as is, but Id rather have a Special.

Respectfully, that's why they make 1-pickup, and multiple-pickup guitars! :dude:

    heheh

Title of the thread is "YOU only need 1...", so we are agreeing that it could have been "I only need 1...." :)

    Personally, I need 2. :)

(For the record I love Jrs, am just playfully stirring the s$&t, and I owned a ratted out 59 TV Jr, I don't own a lot of guitars intentionally, so it had to go as I couldn't live without a neck pickup)

I don't ask much of my guitars but I do need 2 pickups. As someone said earlier, bridge PU's on a junior can't sound like a neck PU.
I respecfully disagree with the OP. I definitely need 2.
