I don't know how long it'll be up but I was looking for sheet music for a student and found really good, clean scans of the first 5 albums,..all the guitar work. Just click the album cover and it loads the PDF. (then right click, save as.)

..just saying. That's a lot of accurate guitar tab right there. Doesn't get much cleaner than a scanned book. And I poked through Appetite, and UYI2 and the scans look clean and bright.

Grab your Les Paul and get your Slash on. :slash:

    Enjoy.

Out To Get Me has some great riffs. Very fun to play.

...like Smoke on the Water, or Youth Gone Wild,..pretty much any riff that uses the open D and G strings is fun to play for some crazy reason. :laugh2:

Those books are probably the best way to do it.

Solo for Nighttrain (page 24 printed, page 20 in the PDF reader) is a lot of fun. :thumb:

......yes I'm sitting here with my new guitar and goofing off with the books. :laugh2: I don't know what songs my student will want to learn so best to run through them all. :dude:

I've bought it twice. And the Metallica books more times than I can count.

...I end up lending them out and never seeing them again. *shrug*

...actually that's how I kept losing Pantera CD's, too

I know people like to joke, but it really is too much fun rolling down the neck tone and playing those big juicy leads. I've been learning Estranged the last few days, so much fun.

I have a set of Slash pickups, they are cool for using the tone knob. Cooler than most I've tried.

I always lament the fact my ears are too bad to hear "Slashtone",..to me a Les Paul plugged into a Marshall (or even an overdriven Fender) sounds like "Slashtone".

But I've seen people argue Slashtone and this has it and this doesn't have it and it needs these special pickups and special Marshall and even Slash can't get "Slashtone" like he could in the old days with the magic guitar and magic amp.

    *shrug*

I plug into an overdriven amp flip up to the neck and play SCoM intro and it usually sounds like it to me. My ears must be too terrible to discern the elusive minutia of "Slashtone". :laugh2:

I've got a Whole Lotta Humbucker in the neck that's great for it as well. Super versatile pickup, really knob-friendly.

To me Slashtone is a myth, and it's a myth that was dispelled for the master tracks for AFD. To my ears Slashtone was heavy gain but with a lot of bite and definition. When I listened to the master tapes I realized the bite and definition I was hearing was Izzy's playing. No wonder it sounded so good, there were two ****ing guitars. :laugh2:

It doesn't help that there are at least two Slashtones. I have the Slash pack for Amplitube and my favorite preset by far is November Rain, which uses the #34 channel of the AFD and has that exact super crisp tight sound he had on the UYI albums, but if you flick it over to the AFD channel it thickens up and sounds totally different... like he did on AFD. And then I've also got the Marshall collection with a sweet Silver Jubilee that also sounds totally different and totally like Slash. So whatever the hell Slashtone is, at least I'm covered.
