    I haven't played a Yngwie strat, but i have
played a Scalloped fretboard strat back in the 70's
    (based on Ritchie Blackmores)
they are kind of tricky, if you squeeze to hard
your notes go sharp, so you have to get
    used to them.

I'd like to get a hold of one for a week or so. Really try it out.
Its a bit expensive to buy without really knowing

    I have 4 of them :D

    2 Maple necks

    2 rosewood necks

    I dig 'em :thumb:

    Great blues machines,

Very easy to bend with any finger....you can get a better angle on the strings.

Also those old style tuners are great if you need to change strings really fast

Grab a used one...save yourself quite a bunch of $$$$

Only one of mine was purchased new

Mine's a '98, the scalloped 'board is a breeze to play, bends and vibrato are much easier. I would'nt part with this one:D

love the blue. Knowing me, i'd get the white tho ...

Onece I saw Yngwie at a club in New Haven. It was right before he came on stage and I was only 4 feet from his PLAY LOUD strat. Wanted to reach over and pick it up but of course I knew better ...

Always wondered how those scalloped boards felt, never laid hands on one. They look cool too.

I heard YM is a real douche too, he still rocks my face off though. My friend went to see him a while back when he was fat. I guess he did one of his little kicks and his leather pants split. I think he got pissed and left the stage or sumthin, can't remember what he said, funny though.

I had one several years ago; a Fender Japan ORDER MADE K serial # STC62 (rosewood) YJM, finished in candy metallic blue with a silver under coat

I don't care for the scalloped 'boards; regretably sold the ole girl

you may want to try one at a music store for a while just to see how you like one ............

I saw him on a couple of ocassions (1993 & 1999) years ago in Dallas; both shows he had equipment issues & stormed off the stage

I would never go see him again; he has the attitude of a 2 year old throwing tantrums :laugh2: ..............

Correct me if Im wrong, but, I think Fender does not make these anymore? Heard Yngwie had some falling out with Larry DiMarzio so now his pickups are exclusively made by Seymour Duncan and so, these may have complicated the ability of Fender to continue production of the YJM strat.

Maybe its just me but, I do not understand paying $12,500.00 for a "Exact replica" of a guitar thats beat to $#!t. The brand new one is interesting and affordable if you like it

I played one with the maple fretboard. It was great but I guess purely for blues because of that kind of neck
