never played one, but Yamaha makes good stuff. How old is your kid? 17" scale length seems pretty small, I'd be concerned about how quickly they'd grow out of it

I had one as a travel guitar. Had no problems quality wise, a little glue near the soundhole was the only thing I found. No sharp frets or anything. It was surprisingly stable in tuning, even with those damned nylon strings.

It sounds good for what it is, keep in mind its tuned up to A so if you want to play along with your kid, you'd have to capo your guitar.

Size wise, it is good for your usual open chords and scales and stuff.
Bar chords and other more complex chords get too cramped IME, but that is for adult sized hands.

How old is your kid ? Especially in classical nylon guitars, there are multiple smaller sizes (e.g. 3/4)
Or maybe one of the awesome mini electric guitars from Ibanez or Jackson ?
I mean, how cool are those ?

Well, then what are you waiting for ? :D
That Mini V is way cool, too !

Forgot to say, one cool thing about the guitarlele is, if you ignore the two lowest strings, its basically a ukulele, so you can play uke songs on it :thumb:
