Last year the wife unit and I didn't feel like the whole cooking thing for just the 2 of us. I gassed up the Jeep and we took off driving along the Blue Ridge Parkway. No destination just see a road and think , "I wonder where that road goes?" We had chili dogs in the parking lot at a Sheetz and actually had a great time.

Mother in law living with us now so looks like I'm cooking this year.
Wish everyone a great holiday and stay safe. :cheers2:

My turkey slippers came in today. They're very warm to say the least:

There is something to look forward to being with your kids and grandchildren...... Betty's genes are living in them!

I know you love and miss her. She's still there, she's living in them!

I hope it helps somehow! I'm sure it doesn't feel fair. But you have at least her legacy right in front of you! Peace!

My wife was surprised when I expressed no interest in making one, because I'm a degenerate chip junkie. It's really pathetic.

Made it through the pre-game round one last night with zero drama, a nice snack meal and some very good conversation about our ancestors. Very enjoyable evening.
I wonder if two days without drama is too much to ask?????

I've had and worked on (I'm a Luthier) quite a few of those Gibson Turkey's ..... their called imported Epiphones (any model).

The only Turkey I want to work on this Thursday is the leg and thigh of the one in the oven already now, due for delivery in 4-1/2 hours.

I smoked a 6.5 lb bone in turkey breast. The hardest part is keeping the rolling papers dry enough to light. Ha!

Preparing myself for the Black Friday craziness . Can’t beleive people waiting inside already .

At least I’m working with a cop this year, any trouble I’ll let him deal with it :laugh2:

Hopefully it will go smoothly as previous years .

    Happy Thanksgiving y’all

Wife will be working most of the night then cleaning up at the food service..homeless and less fortunate folks. Many are also helping clean and prep..

Going to store now to get everything for the stuffing and sides.. Wife will need sleep..

Fappy Thanksgiving! Not much celebration here in Sweden except for Midsummer, Christmas, New Year and NGD.

I'm stuffed. Couple hours we're meeting our best friends and neighbors for a few cocktails.

I now have the house all to myself. I've worn out a whole roll of paper towels wiping the drool off the new to me guitar. I never knew a newly arrived guitar fosters a desire for being all alone on a major holiday.
