I sold my LP build to a fellow MLP brother.

I believe the guitar was fine, but the case (which was in perfect condition when I shipped it) looking like this when it arrived:

Imagine if it hadn't been in a case!

F'ing barbarians, they've destroyed several boxes of mine before. Sadly, those boxes mostly contained beer. :cheers2:

Well, that sucks. At least the guitar survived.

I think it is in their training SOP to run over any guitar shaped box. It may be tied to their seasonal bonus :wow:

Looks like they ran over this one real good. The thing is smashed from both ends. I'm trying to visualize the accident that could cause that....

File a claim. That's why you purchase insurance. Was it inside a cardboard box as well or just loose. Not that it would really matter from the looks of that but it would be painfully obvious when it was delivered that a claim should be filed. If the cardboard was bashed I would open it while the guy was still there.

    Good luck.

    Cheers Peter.

It was packed in a box for me at the shipping store, and I'm definitely going to file a claim. I paid $100 for that case. the guitar is fine, but the person I sold it to paid for the guitar and a case and they got a guitar and a useless piece of junk.
They better reimburse me for the case (which then goes to the buyer).

There are some horror stories about for sure. With all the home security and CCTV cameras about the footage of various delivery drivers aggressively throwing parcels about turn up almost weekly.

Glad your work survived.....now that would have been a tragedy

I am not sure where you sent it from but, FedEx policy is if they pack it, they are on the hook for any damage.

Why would you send the guy a relic case with a new looking guitar in it?

Did you have fragile stickers on the box? Those are the first ones they go for.

A friend of mine just bought an acoustic from eBay and the guy shipped it in the SKB style case with no box, not locked or taped at all. I couldn't believe they shipped it that way. I'm surprised the case didn't look like that one.

    Chris,
I'm glad the guitar survived. I worked at FedEx one summer (overnight express). I could write a book about some of the things I saw.
FedEx says: "When it absolutely has to be there" , what they don't say is "how many pieces".
NEVER EVER send anything fragile and or irreplaceable "Overnight".
