That's the R8 I mentioned earlier saying I missed out on it. Long story short, the seller was asking a really decent price that I could afford but Mark ended up buying it instead and now I can't afford it. C'est la vie.

Coldengray: Just right now i'ld rather go the Gibson route. Thanks for the link but I think it's not quite what i'm after. Thanks for the help though.

Dude! There is a SICK R8 here in the classifieds that was a special run for the Japan market....R8 with an R9 neck, made to look like a specific page in Beauty of the Burst. Mint, all case candy, etc. Seller just lowered the price to $3300. JUMP ON THAT!

    Hahah thanks coldengray!
and thanks Bonchie, beautiful top and price but I just couldn't live with the colour! Apparently they don't fade as well after 2005 so I think i'ld be stuck with it.
Thanks for the help/support guys :)

Have you considered a Bartlett build? His work is amazing and the quality is going to be better than any Gibbo, plus you can pick your top, have real nitro and still come in around 3500...

If you want a guitar that truly is a superior instrument I'd do that, and In fact am awaiting mine from Tom right now, and plan to get rid of my gibbos after that. If you just want a name on a headstock then continue waiting my friend.

Maestro, I just scrolled down the thread and saw your video again and realised I was sitting in exactly the same position! Haha.

Darklocke, to be honest it's unlikely but fell free to send me some pictures just incase. (falconer333@hotmail.com)

R9in09 I'm interested but just a bit worried about going that route. I will try and do some research though so thanks for the suggestion and please let me know how yours turns out :)

Here's a nicely flamed R8 with neck measurements that are a little closer to an R9:

    Hiya Johnny.
    For your perusal:
I may be persuaded to sell this Cool R9 I have. I still have the original knobs and pickups, and tone controls. I just changed them out to make the guitar more sweet, more "mine" as it were.

Plays and sounds like a dream come true. Really sweet, and very toneful thanks to the WBs and the Tonestyler tone knobs.

Put in Prototype WB pickups. Will's special 76 wire 6.7-07 humbuckers.

Oh yeah, we got half the Jimmy Page wiring thing as well. CTS Push/pulls on the volumes allowing for single coil type sounds.

Comes with all the original case candy plus the Gibson pickups, tonepots, and tophats.
Truly one of the reasons R9 Gibsons still command the money they do, nothing else sounds and plays like these R9s.

I'd be wanting over 4K for it if I sell.
Here it is with some friends:

If not, good luck in your patient search.

Thanks Harpozep but it's not quite what i'm after. Thanks for the offer though and best of luck with the sale.
BSF1955: Thanks but it's way above my price range.
Coldengray: Thanks again man, what a fretboard! But i'm not wild on the top to be honest.
Thanks for all the help and offers though everyone.

What type of price range did you want to keep it under? I know of some R9's that I can get some pictures of possibly!
