Bought a 339 Pro P-90 a couple of weeks ago to complement my Les Paul and Strat... Yeah, I haven't touched my Gibson or the Fender other than to pull them out for the family picture. Then they went right back in the case and the 339 was back in my hands. Such a great, dark tone, and SUCH a comfortable neck. Smooth as silk, great intonation (my Gibson binds on the G string when I bend it- it's due for a setup). Don't get me wrong- I do love the humbucker sound, but MAN, are those P-90s versatile! It nails the dark, thick, woody jazz tone I've been aiming for, but it also has a rock tone that can punch you right in the teeth. As soon as (if ever) I get tired of playing the 339 exclusively, I'll have to mic up the amp and do a recording comparison between the 339, my Strat, and my LP (with coil split- I'll be interested to hear the differences).
