Bought a 339 Pro P-90 a couple of weeks ago to complement my Les Paul and Strat...

Yeah, I haven't touched my Gibson or the Fender other than to pull them out for the family picture. Then they went right back in the case and the 339 was back in my hands. Such a great, dark tone, and SUCH a comfortable neck. Smooth as silk, great intonation (my Gibson binds on the G string when I bend it- it's due for a setup).

Don't get me wrong- I do love the humbucker sound, but MAN, are those P-90s versatile! It nails the dark, thick, woody jazz tone I've been aiming for, but it also has a rock tone that can punch you right in the teeth.

As soon as (if ever) I get tired of playing the 339 exclusively, I'll have to mic up the amp and do a recording comparison between the 339, my Strat, and my LP (with coil split- I'll be interested to hear the differences).

    Nice!

I narrowly missed one helluva deal on one of those on CL locally, and I'm still bummin' about it. Glad you got yours, though...

Great pickup (both the p90 and your purchase)!

You're right they do feel great the neck is super easy to play. I have the same guitar and it definitely has a different sound than my humbucker guitars but I dig it :thumb:

Congratulations! You have made a great choice. All my other guitars are jealous of my Epi ES-339 P90 Pro as well. :naughty:

Growing up on Back to the Future, my dream has always been that Gibson ES-345 with aftermarket Bigsby, so I was going to hold out for the red version of this, but the Pelham Blue is soooooo good looking, and honestly perfect for this guitar. If I'm ever in a position to snap up a red 345, I still will, but as far as semi hollow GAS? I'm good.

I saw a red one in a GC early this spring and it REALLY got my attention! Nice guitar, Epiphone! Combines my Casinos and my old Sheraton...
