All the best of luck with everything!
All my best Alex. You are definitely a talented winder
Wow, this is a bit of a shock! Do what you need to do Alex. I hope in the end you continue your thriving craft. I'm really excited about having set #7! They are fantastic Alex!
God bless you!
I am really sorry to hear that Alex! Hopefully things will get better for you soon! I am really looking forward to my 2 sets!
Sorry to hear about your misfortune Alex.
Now it seems it is my misfortune as well as I was going to order a pair of your pickups next week.
I was sold after listening to Nico's fantastic sound clips!
We all hope thing work out for the best for you....soon!!!
Wow, sorry to hear that Alex. I hope you do come out stronger for it and that these 100 sets become legend for you to come back to!
Good luck and all the best.
I had the opposite experience. I waited for what seemed like forever for my Dave Stephens pups and while they were fine, they didn't have the magic I had hoped for. I sold them about a month after.
The Wizz PAF's I have are magical! Head and shoulders better!
To each their own, or whatever that saying is...
Sorry to hear Alex.I wish you the best and I hope everything will be ok.
That must hurt Alex. I have faith that you will recover from this misfortune and be back up doing well soon.
These are great times for us guitarists as there are quite a few really great "PAF stype pup's" being produced by several talented winders today
Which are "the best"...
Impossible to say...
My Wizz set has the "hollow tone" and the "mid bark" typically associated with a great "Paf" and I´m sure that "Paf style pickups" by other winders show these qualities as well.
I´m really happy with my Wizz pu's, and I hope that Alex comes back to this craft again!
Hope your luck changes, Alex.
Sorry to hear Alex... best of luck to you
Are you saying that they got soaked in water somehow? I thought that liquids that are allowed must be in leak proof containers. But than figuring out how isn't important, just make sure future sets are in some kind of liquid proof packaging, like in heat-shrink plastic bags.
I'd put in claims with them, they are insured up to certain amounts weather or not you cover them for full value, and than the sets could be sold as they are as long as they check out to be electronically functioning. I'd bet all that needs to be done is to change the leads, and the patina is probably evan better. Copper don't rust, the steel will but if the acids are neutralized, the rust on the steel shouldn't cause any serious damage. At worst they could be used to make new sets and re-wound.
Maybe they could be sold as extra reliced
So what happened? Hope your ok. I see the site is no longer trading?
Got pics of mine!they're on their way!
Man what happened? Alex is such a great guy. I hope all is well man.
Paf clone set just received today , great job from ALEX. Extremely exited to try soon .
Alnico III mag 7.8 K neck, Alnico IV 8.4 K bridge.
Lightly aged covers (reverse zebra bobbins) .
Nice! Pictures ASAP!
I decided to try to - if possible - minimize the squeal from my bridge pickup when playing really loud/gainy stuff. I desoldered the cover (soldered by me, not by Alex) placed some extra double sticky tape on the bobbins and took extreme care of getting to cover really really tight when soldering it back.
I now can play as loud as I need to with zero feedback
The Wizz set is again installed in my favorite Gold Top, making it an even better instrument than before
