Personally I liked the feel on the Wilshires better than any SG I had in my hands,
there was no 'neck-diving' with the Wilshires, and the neck is really slim,

and it is not a Gibson-copy design, it's an Epiphone design :thumb:

I have 2 '99 SG's and a 2013 Wilshire, but not a PRO. Almost totally different guitars, both very worthwhile and versatile...the Wilsh is an Epiphone design from the 1960's, first made by Gibson in Kalamazoo. It is a really great playing guitar, light, comfortable to hold and no neck dive at all, very great sound from the mini humbucker pups. It is a different sound from an SG...kind of a P90/Telecaster sound, but no hum and a bit smoother. Great neck-very accessible and fast. I like both, but I think you might try the Wilshire.

Here is one of the best reviews of this guitar online...it shows the amazing versatility and tone of these guitars...

This one's good, too...but he doesn't use the tone control much...

I really like the Wilshire design, and I think it plays great. Also, how many guys do you see playing sg copies?

    Me every day lol!

The Wilshire headstock is a little strange looking IMO but I'd give one a whirl if I could find one in a store. The faded finish is really cool looking.

I played a "real" Wilshire once. Nice neck, but the tone was lacking in cholesterol. I prefer the SG.

I picked up a TV Silver Wilshire Pro not long ago. I dig this guitar. They only made about a thousand of these in TV Silver. This run also came with the split coil pickups. It has Classic Pros for pickups. The tuners are Grover 14:1 tuners. The setup was wacked when I got it. After removing the plastic and changing the strings, I adjusted it to factory specs and, it is a champ now. Here are shots before I cherryed it out.

Yeah- Johnny Winter really worked his out! ;)

You should hear them with a little overdrive...

Here's a Wiki article on the Wilshire...there are a few notables who played them...Hendrix, Springsteen, Townsend...guys like that...
