The thread is nice, however I don't want to keep digging through it looking for advice, reviews, questions etc.

    Let's get that Sub-Forum up!

Game is on for me. My cabs are sitting here and my XL+ comes tomorrow... and that's a good thing cause I'm going nuts without it. You can't believe how habit forming it can be.

I used to won the orignal Rockman X100 (wish I still did) and I also owned the distortion generator. These were not modellers, there was no processing used at all, simply bucket brigade devices for delay adn chorus and ran an analog signal through some 5V buffers for clipping. I still have an old X100 schematic thinking I'd build one but half the components are obsolete.

I still have this and use it regularly - need to channel my inner-Scholz

It's kind of a cheap man's version. I use vintage Boss EQ's vs. the Rockmans. They are 1/3 the cost when you find them. I use a Rocktron Intelifex Delay/Verb unit vs. the reference analog Rockman. Those things can be big bucks.

The 3 main units (Sustainor, Generator, and Chorus) are all refurbed and sound great. I run it in stereo right into my mix board and out through monitors.

Agreed - not modelling in the modern sense. These were hardware processing units (modelers of tone) of the first 2 Boston Albums vs. software (code based) processing of tone. At the time there was no choice, there weren't affordable CPUs in 1982.

A modeling subforum? Does this mean all the bikini pics are coming back?

Cuz that's the kinda modeling I'd be interested in! :wow:
