Very nice Jomo, thanks!
R.Cray MIM artist series Strat
I know I'm bringing back the dead here, isn't that better than duplicating a similar thread?
...but figured I'd share.
I like the mint pg on Olympic white. Looks good.
60's Classic Player's Strat, Sonic Blue with Mint guard.
that's cool Jeff.
I would have loved to find a tele surf green, sonic blue, daphne blue, or sea foam green (in that order) in my price range...
The oly white to me just didn't look right with the bright white pickguard... and I had thoughts of refinishing one in onf of the colors I mentioned above, but for now I'm pretty happy with the Oly white and the Mint guard.
now, if I can find a 6 saddle bridge and chrome ashtray cover set that'll fit on my MIM I'll look into that.
My CV 60's which I replaced the Tortoise Shell with a Mint Green from Stewmac
Here is a Chrome Red USA Deluxe with the minty
Absolutely! Yes, it will work!
Does anyone remember where this whole "mint green" thing came from? Fender did not originally produce a mint green pickguard! They made white ones out of real celluloid. "Problem" was, they discolored over time (quite quickly, actually, within a matter of a few years) to this "odd," "greenish" color. So, all the "mint green" guards we buy today are simply trying to replicate the look of a vintage pickguard. IMO, they look KILLER on a 62 Strat with a 3-tone burst (yes, I'll also cast a positive vote for them on Olympic White).
I also have a mint green guard on a black Tele body.
IMO, not all mint green pickguards are created equal. Some indeed do look like "Booger Green," while others capture the true essence of the discolored celluloid originals.
How about a mint green Strat with a white pickguard?
Here's a Mint Green on my CS '59
Here is mine. This is the photo from Wildwood where I got it.
A green-guard came on my American Vintage Reissue '62... Looks pretty decent with Ocean Turquoise.
Road Worn Olympic white. Pickguard from Fatboy guitars.
MIM body, Allparts V neck, Seymour Duncan Antiquity pickups, 57 RI tuners, and mint ebay pickguard.
Aidb that looks awesome. My buddy has the same strat and refuses to change the roadworn guard for a mint. Good decision IMHO!
I did this with Reranch Surf Green Nitro and a mint green pickguard.
Edit* oops posted on the wrong thread hahaha
I have this exact color combo on my Strat and let me tell you it's gorgeous! Rosewood board I assume?
