Is that the Scorpion you're talking about?
Yes I do have that one and I do like it however I removed it in an attempt to simplify things.

Thing is a do not putz around with my amp's settings. I find what I want and then leave the amp alone. I don't want to start fooling around with the amp for each guitar and song.
I match the pedal to the guitar.
Have very good on board reverb with the Hardwire RV7.
The LP came stock with the Gibson 490's. Didn't like 'em at all and got the Pearly Gates. Never considered them hot & they are PAF Alnico 2's so they are not at all over the top.
Recently got an EQ pedal ( Danelectro Fish n Chips ) and I run it thru the FX but haven't yet dialed it in to where it should be.
Of course dialing in a tone takes a lot of tweaking and experimentation and that is very frustrating and time consuming for me.
Fortunately for me my last outstanding tone to be finalized is the LP.

I have been on the hunt of lo gain od too lately. With LP but not with Marshall but an 6L6 tweed amp.

I have found too many of them:

Timmy is great, specially boosting and sculptin the bass/trebles.

JHS Morning Glory V4 is on my board now in a job You described: giving just a bit of hair. Very authentic. Didn’t like the Hot switch.

    J. Rockett Blue Note (the Blue one!). Just perfect scale of distortion from none to more. This Hot switch I like (I made a separate footswitch for it).

Wampler Tumnus Deluxe. Gorgeous drive sound! And I can add or take off as much bass, mids or treble I like!

This is one too many. First World problems...

    Good luck in Your hunt!

Thanks man. Recently got and tried out the JHS Soul Food. Hasn't yet done it for me.
End of my rope I'm thinking the Xotic RC Boost is the way to go.
    Any users please chime in.
I actually had the thought today after foolin' round with the Barber LTD, the Xotic BB Pre, the Scorpion Comp and the TC Mojomojo that I'll just stop playing the LP !! Why go to all this trouble and frustration when I am pleased as punch with my Tele and the tone I get.LOL

Well after all this fuss I've gone and ordered...wait for it...lol... the Blues Crab from Mooer.
Yup... an inexpensive Chinese clone of the Marshall Bluesbreaker pedal.
The demos sounded real good and as the Bluesbreaker was made famous with an LP I'm figuring the pedal has got to be geared for an LP right?
Hopefully this one will " do it" for me and I can sell off some of my expensive ones.
I do already have the Mooer Acoustikar which I am very pleased with so to date Mooer is in my good books.lol

I just installed Pearly Gates on my Standard plugged into my DSL40C with the C-9 mod and Creamback upgrade. Anyway, I'm a little surprised no one has mentioned the Xvive Golden Brownie. Steller brown tone with a very small footprint and quite a range of sonic options.

    I'm diggin' it!!!!

Cool. Sound designed by a German guitarist known as " The Strat King " !?
    Said to be a JCM800 in a box ?
Are you a high gain, hard rock player? This in the pedals description.
Listened to some clips. The way the Golden Brownie is presented makes it way over the top for my style of play though. Gotta say that the pedal does sound very good for that style of music.
Learned something new already in this day.
    Thanks.

Just throwing this out there, I like the Paisley Drive. Very versatile & adjustable & just great tone.

Sorry BanditPanda (luv yer handle!) but the Blues Crab is their take on the Boss BD-2, a completely different pedal than the BluesBreaker, much "spongier" and with way less attack than the BB.
I've owned both the Boss and the Marshall BB Mark1, so I'm stalking by personal experience.

Source Pauly? Every review I've looked at says basically >>>The Mooer Blues Crab is a clone of the original Marshall Bluesbreaker <<<<<<
    Mooer.com itself says very little.
I already have the BD2 but that's on the shelf and hasn't been used for a dog's age.
I liked the sounds of the Blues Crab on YT and the very positive reviews and if anybody had commented/reviewed it as a Boss Blues Driver clone I wouldn't of even thought about getting it.
    BP
p.s. You may be thinking of the Mooer Blues Mood pedal which has been stated as....
"Here's a comparison between a Boss Blues Driver, and a Mooer Blues Mood which is a clone of the Keeley modded version."

@SoCal Flood , eager to hear how your shootout went. I've owned 3/4 of those pedals, but the OCD is the only one that stuck. Will say I prefer the silver Archer to the gold one.

Also, have you tried putting the OCD before the Klon clones? I run mine with the drive all the way down like yours is set in that pic, and have had good results putting it before a few different other ODs.

Blue Crab just arrived. Had it plugged in for about 10 minutes. This is what I wanted.
Knew it from the first strum.
No frills, no switches. Level/Tone/Gain. Not a high gain pedal what so ever. Nice sweep from zero to full on break up. Very nice tonally. Read somewhere someone said it's a bright pedal.
Thru a Marshall it definitely is. Used the Scorpion comp before it to take some bright off. Hit the Beano which is before the Scorpion and we're rocking really good. From bridge to neck pups it's all good.
More tweaking to come to find all the sweet spots.
For my LP this is the one.
First night of the honeymoon and all that jazz lol.
Many thanks to all the contributors ! :cheers2::rock:
