I'm not a big fan of their custom models. (Personal reasons)

My favorite model is the Sheraton II....

I like the Epi originals vs. the Gibson clones.

Wouldn't you rather have a Casino, Jason?

Speaking from a logical part of my brain, absolutely... But the 1956 GT was the first Les Paul I ever saw in person... it made a huge impression on me and has haunted my dreams ever since.

I know how you feel. I still remember this gig with a 2 guitar band.

One guy had a real deal 1957 Stratocaster......
The other guy had an Epiphone Goldtop....

    The Epi did just fine....

    I don't doubt it!

Although... occasionally... I do get the wild idea that I should scrounge and save up for an R6... After about a year and a half of diligent plasma donations, I could afford a brand new one. :dude: :laugh2:

    I dunno...are they worth it?

Great bragging rights and all.....but hell, you could go into a club and rip it up with an Epi no problems. Or even a Gibson USA model....

Ahh but it wouldn't be about bragging rights... it would be about the fulfillment of my lust in the most ultimate way possible. Completely and utterly impractical and unnecessary... but um... maybe you could consider it "scratching an itch" good enough that you never have to scratch it again? :laugh2:

Well, besides MINE.... I'd have to say a Lohn Lennon Casino. Also for sentimental reasons.

    I dunno, Jason.

Every time I play a gig I look at guitars tryin' to make a choice based on where I'm playing, and for how long.

A lot of times the Epi's get the nod. Sometimes one feels "better" than the others.

But God's Honest Truth...if all I had was an Epi Standard I'd probably get along just fine...

(Hell, for years all I had was 1 electric guitar...and that was an Ibanez frankenstrat)

    :hmm:

    I dunno, Jason.

I'd actually consider Heritage guitars before Gibson Custom Shop. (well...OK...maybe...always wanted an ES 335).

I gotta tell ya though...that itch never gets scratched, not really. In fact, often times it'll just make the itch worse....

too right. i started scratching eight years ago, and have been through over 20 guitars. still not found the right one, but to paraphrase bill hicks

it takes one good one, or a whole bunch of average ones.

i have a bunch of ones that i've begun pimping out of averageness, and i love every minute of it :thumb:

MIJ from 98-99, right after Fujigen transitioned from the Orvilles those are the great Epi's.
