hah! now that is quite the eBay find! I'm not far from where you were at, out in the Lake St Louis area, which you probably wouldn't recognize it. It is quite different from when you were out here - the growth over the last 10 years is exponential and no longer considered the country - there's neighborhoods all over the place now.

I knew I recognized that vine inlay pattern! It's shared with the Aria Pro II Pe-145. That Aria Pro II came out around a transition period and I haven't seen anything to confirm what factory was responsible. How did you verify the Manoman as a Chushin Gakki?

a sg200, there was lots of sg2000's made but not that many 200's
mines a MIJ lefty, so possibly quite rare. This is a later SBG the "B" was later added to keep you know who happy.

very underated guitar IMO, trouble is, its worth f*ck all 250 tops

My "rarest" isn't all that rare although you don't see one every day - it's the guitar in my Avatar, a Silverburst 1979 Custom.

The only problem I have with this necropost is there are so many images not available anymore.

Anyway most of my guitars are unique, but none of them “rare”.

I guess my rarest is my Les Paul Recording. Except for Les Paul himself, I can’t think of anyone else who plays one. Hell, I never even saw one in person until I was 49.

My rarest guit is also my all time favourite , been played so much it's amazing that it's still all original, other than a few re-frets.
The pick guard warped & partially disintegrated so it sits in the case.
    1960 ES-355TD, one of 128 made.

My rare one is the Yamaha RGZ820R Watermelon Plaid. I only see a few come up for sale every blue moon. The second would be my dead mint Ibanez JP-20 with the original case. Even though these are out there, most have some small issue, be it degassing of the pick guard, missing speed knob grips or truss rod covers.
