Great thread. Here's my story: I was 15, and I'd been making noise around the house about wanting to learn guitar. No one took me seriously, it was a big joke to all the grownups. Except for Gary. I came home from school one day to find his 1967 Guild M-20 on my bed, next to a big blue copy of Eagles Complete. Inside the cover was a leaf of paper, with a few chord shapes on it and some fingering pointers. "Outlaw Man" was my first victory, and I never looked back. He's the only person from that generation of his family of hippie addicts for whom I have even a shred of respect, and that Guild is still my #1 acoustic. Thanks for not being a douchebag and getting me started on the greatest adventure of my life, Gary.
