I agree about Teles. I just cannot get into them. I love the way they sound but do not like either the look or the feel of them.

As was mentioned before... everyone has their own preferences. I'm not too much of a Tele fan either, but I still am gonna get one and set it up as a slide guitar.

i have had a couple of teles

had a brand new '68 which i traded for a '59 Gibson Les Paul double cutaway when i was 16

took a long time to save up $199.00 for it, haha

my '52 reissue was was a beauty; it could growl, it could sing – no idea why i sold it, per usual

will probably get another '52 reissue and have jonesy do some Tonemojo to it

as with a Strat, it is critical mastering the tone control on a Tele

gee, a Tele did not sound too bad on essentially all of Led Zeppelin I, did it?

but hey, i am not a salesman nor do i work for Fender, Gibson or Marshall,
i am in private practice and continue to play what has worked best for me over the years

as John Lennon sang, "Whatever Gets You Through The Night"

Another thread Reminded me of this...not many guitars so solid you could do this with and go back to playing. Keith Richards with the Tele he played for about 15 years....

I'm with you, I've owned several teles and could never bond with any of them, so I sold em.

    That poor '54. :laugh2:

I get a kick out of this guy.... "yeah, I didn't scallop it or change the pickups." Well good, Yngwie. Thanks for not destroying a piece of history. Why don't you go ahead and toss it back in the F'ing pile.
