Not technically "on the bench", but I have this stack of cedar that's drying and waiting to get turned into a Tele body to replace the Strat knock off that came to be known as the Crapocaster... Next in line is a Jr DC kit I got off eBay... Still need to get some hardware for it...

Scored this 10+" wide slab of mahogany. Turns out, it's enough to make TWO flying Vs. :D Once I finish my two current projects and get moving on my white limbs V, I'll proceed with these. So, they'll probably be done in 2019 at my pace. haha!

Since these builds don't have a thread

Some carves on this body now and its finished cept for finish sanding. On to Strat body two with quilted maple top...

This one is a hardtail body with no tremolo routing. Still only 4 lbs. 1 oz. That should make the body weight police happy I think.
Would have been well under 4 lbs if I was putting a trem in it. ;)

Maybe when I drill the string holes, ferrules, channels for the wires between bridge and cavity, and output jack wires
it'll be enough to drop it under 4 ;)

Only boo boo was the depth stop on my drill press moved and I got a couple divots from the center spike on the
Forster bit when I cut out the neck pocket. Just the very tip, not deep at all. Obviously its a non issue from nearly
every perspective other than my own OCD. I'll always know its under there ;)

This is still "on the workbench," but brought it upstairs to show a family member on Skype. Here's a compare shot of the size and shape alongside a strat and an LP.

Strats are so organically curvaceous ... especially with a strong-grained one-piece body! Looks great, but you really should consider making tiny wood cones to fill in those divots. With a bolt-on neck, you really can't afford any air pockets! ;)

Edit: I could send you some Padauk, which is really great for fixing guitars. :p

I really love this. We need more BE tops in the world. I'm a huge fan of that wood. Is it going to be natural or color stain?

Not sure yet, thought of doing a light blue burst on it

More different Strat. This is the one with the quilted drop top that I'm building for the VP at my company.

Made a really good tight bend over the arm carve with the help of moisture, a hot pipe to bend on, some relief cuts on the underside,
    and my vacuum bag.

Joint came out perfect and seamless all the way around. Roundover left very minor rough spots. No real tear out at all. I was expecting the quilted edge to turn out rougher than it did. It'll clean up very easily with sanding. Obviously still have to do the cavities, neck pocket, etc, but this part was the one that I was concerned over and I'm
very happy with the outcome :)

I've got a couple sets of chess men that I have been working on as Christmas presents for my dad and my brother. Pieces are now done, on to the boards.

That quilt is dizzying! :D How do you plan to finish it? If you did a blueburst you'd have to put up warning signs to keep people from trying to swim in it! :D

Thats exactly what its getting. This is a photo that was given to me as an example of how it should be finished, complete with natural edge...

Had this kit guitar lying around for ages. Finally found some time doing something about it.

I love it. Will it have a Brazilian fretboard perchance?
