Admitting the problem is the first step!

"We admitted we were powerless over figured maple, and that our lives had become unmanageable"

I have that same problem :)

Had these beauties to work on, the ibanez hollowbody is a lawsuit era guitar, so beautiful, the bridge pickup worked loose and ended up in the body. And would you believe it went right between the support posts for the bridge.

Took a little jiggling to get it out then the hot wire came off the pot, all sweet now, I'm gassing big time for a true hollow body.
The strat just needed some contact cleaner in the switch and a new jack.

I'm guessing the same for the ibanez strat Tele thing, all though it might just be the bridge pickup it's a lot softer in volume then the other pups. I'll take it apart when I have more time.

This same guy used to own a local music store and he lives across from my parents. So I take completed guitars over to him to get feed back, be nice for a bit of coin It'll be mates rates though IMG_7852.JPG IMG_7853.JPG IMG_7854.JPG IMG_7855.JPG IMG_7856.JPG IMG_7857.JPG IMG_7858.JPG IMG_7859.JPG

IMG_7867.JPG IMG_7871.JPG IMG_7873.JPG IMG_7874.JPG IMG_7872.JPG Been semi busy this weekend, I finished up working in the ibanez Tele bastard thingy that I posted earlier, the I got to work on my two SAFS and the karri one needs maybe a couple more clear.

The pine SAF had its neck carved, frets installed, veneer added, neck glued in and fine sanded the whole thing.

Onto clear coating the bugger tomorrow, and put together the other one towards the end of the week.

Finally I've been asked to refinish this old magnum Tele, no not an addict magnum but a cheap brand from back in the nineties. He wants it either butterscotch or light blue with a Duncan quarter pound strat pup.

Anyone have any ide how to put t jnthe tele bridge plate? I don't think the plate is wide enough to just drill the plate where the height adjustment screws typically go.

You sure do keep busy, Corey. Sheesh.

Of course an Addict Magnum Tele is something that could only exist in some twisted alternate reality.

Speaking of Magnum, the VP of the company I work for just offered me a barter.
I build him an Addict Stratocaster and he gives me a S&W 460 XVR with 8" barrel (+ some cash) It's a 5 shot revolver (BFG) that chambers the .460 S&W Magnum, .454 Casul, and .45 long colt. It's the very definition of hand cannon

Four bodies. I'm going to route the electronics cavities on the back and then set the pickup and neck planes before smoothing out all those steps into the finished carve.

I'm not sure if I go for the Gibbo knobs or not.

And Chris don't post any pictures of your gorgeous maple for a few posts, I need to bathe in my glory for a bit.

So proud at how this turned out IMG_7877.JPG IMG_7878.JPG IMG_7879.JPG

Well, I wouldnt just keep posting pictures of the same piece of wood over and over so youre pretty safe for a while since I'm fairly broke after buying that last one.

If I get a new piece though, its every man for himself :)

Just working on a quick little build. I played a vintage 1960 LP Jr. DC in NY last week and, since the project has been on my list for some time, I decided to finally get at it. Neck was already mostly built and waiting. I call this the Red Dwarf (heritage cherry Jr.). The biggest difference will simply be modern finishes and a scarfed headstock with straight string pull.
