What kind of maple is this ?

    Golden oak veneer over a particle core made of chipped up Eastern Maple grown on the Western side of a very cold lake in Quebec. :fingersx:

    that's exactly what i was thinking freddy. okay, well maybe not exactly, but veneer over particle board for sure.

    I've got some figured poplar at home which is another odd wood to find figure in. Its kinda like flame in oak, its very scattered and not very noticable untill you put stain to it.

    The gamer in me sees an opportunity to create a new post/game of guess the wood. It would be educational and interesting. I bet there must be many patterns and even woods I haven't set seen yet.

    .....................my Luthier mate has a really nice piece of lightweight flamed Swamp Ash.

    That was interesting to see first hand.
