Found one local on CL. It's got an issue. I'm pretty good at fixing these kind of things but it's obviously it took some kind of drop from the scratches on the side. It's one thing if a part is loose but something could be broken inside.

I was thinking about offering $150. What do you think?

I'm selling my Electro-Voice RE20 microphone. It's in decent shape but has some wear on it. The microphone works, however, there is a rattle on the inside that can be heard if the mic shakes. I have read this can be fixed if you know what you are doing. I don't know what I'm doing when it comes to fixing mics so I'm going to part ways with this one. Asking $200. Please feel free to give me an offer. Also feel free to ask any questions you may have. Thanks

Thanks Freddy. I'm going back and forth on this one. I definitely don't need it. But if the price is right it would be a nice to have.

edit: wrong mic guts i posted. :)

the rattle could literally be a stray smidgen of solder. go for it. if it's as simple as that, or something along those lines, you'd have yourself a good deal.

From what I've read there are two common issues with these mics. One is the inner foam deteriorates over time. This can cause the rattle. Seems a pretty easy fix.

Other issue is an interior plastic piece comes unglued. This is a more complex fix.

Think I'll make an offer and see what happens.
