Many MIJ LP fans claim that MIJ LPs are not only more consistent in build quality, more accurate representations of the "real thing", but also simply much better guitars than Historics are. I'm interested to hear from the other part of the crowd: what do you guys think about those claims? What is your experience?
I don't blame if people choose something based on the name on the headstock, by the way :)

Since when is it a bad thing to ask people about their choice? Maybe I'm interested in a little discussion and hearing different points of view as opposed to just getting off on NGD threads and bashing Henry.

I've never heard that claim to be the "real thing" compared to historics. Not saying they're not better, never played one. Just never heard it before.

You have already claimed that you don't buy into Historic LP / "'Bursts" myth or tone of these guitars(and yet you even own one) but you insist to compare them to MIJ replicas using other people's opinions. What kind of nonsense is that?......

Just compare the instruments you like and form your own opinion since that is all that matters......

MIJ guitars feel a lot like plastic toys with cheap pickups for the most part. In all but the very top of the line, I've found them to be something just below a set neck Epiphone and a little above a bolt-on Epi. Not only are the pickups godawful, but the wiring is done with non-usa sized tiny pots and caps so if you bought one, and actually liked it, you'd have to route out the holes to fit decent parts in there. Overall I'd recommend a pass on these to most folks. To compare one to a historic is silly. It's like comparing a Honda Civic with exhaust and cold-air-intake to a Porsche. Thanks for stopping by.

You guys are so shallow. And freakin' nazis. You just cannot mind your own business and ignore topics you have no interest in. Instead, you project your shit into what I say and interpret it the way that suits you, which then gives you reason to attack me and accuse of your bullshit.

It's very simple. Historics guys talk so much about dogs and the "right ones" and about how hard it is to find a good Historic, but they stick to them anyway, and MIJ guys seem to love every one of MIJ guitars. I just wonder why it is that way. Is it actually true, or is it just a matter of perspective?

I've played electric guitars for around 15 years, but I haven't developed an ability to tell a good guitar from a dog in the same range of guitars. To me, it mostly comes down to the setup. So I am trying to wrap my head around the whole thing.
