Jumping, did you spray aniline? That's a beautiful finish, and I'm wondering if it's gonna fade from there, or stay that way, because it would be awesome if it stays that way.

Thanks guys! A luthier friend whom I have great fondness and respect for suggested his preference would have been to keep the fretboard, top, logo and binding etc and re-body, and re-neck it, as the mods/damage was too extensive and not cost efficient- thankfully I don't charge myself, and was determined to keep all the old wood, and I'm glad I persevered :)
JJ, yes it's aniline but I shot it a really strong/bright clown burst, so I think it'll settle close to this... I have two other mid '50s conversions I'm finishing up, one of which has by far the best ribbon flame edge-to-edge one piece flame top I've seen on a GT- pics of that in a week or so ;)

Thanks guys! My daughter gave me her stomach bug last night, so nothing aside from writhing in agony and hugging the toilet will be happening for awhile :(

Wow, Yuuki, both of those guitars are absolutely gorgeous! I'm super jealous!!!

Can you possibly share what was done to plug the TP holes on the '54? Whoever did that route/plug job and the matching of the grain, did an outstanding job. Did they find a perfectly matching piece of maple, or did they draw the grain lines and color the wood to match? Any closeups of that area before and after?

Looks like it needs to be 'broken in' though. You got the address, Yuk! You can send it on OTP with that goofy ass DC, if you want.

    Get well, mate!
