Cool stuff, cybermkg! How does that attenuator work?

That built in "sponge" on the Valvetronix series is the reason I have a giant 2x12" 100 watt in my basement, when it's way bigger than I need. I like the sound of the larger speaker on low volumes, and the attenuator lets you get a more "pushed tube" sound at significantly lower volumes (though some say not as good).

Tried cheapies. Had Webers. None of them Compare. When Bad Cat says this is Transparent, they mean it, in both tone and feel. But, it is much more than the Attenuator.

For instance, the Ampeg can get some truly steller clean tones of various 'thicknesses'. And, it actually has a lot of headroom for it's size. But there are some fat clean tones I really like at the 7.5w setting. Can't get all that loud with it though. But through the Class D power amp of the Unleash, well it just reamplifies it to ear bleed volumes. Same thing for the little 1 watt Blackstar. In other words, dial in the tone on the amp, that you want, and the Unleash lets you then have it be whatever volume you want, from talk-over to knock them back a foot or two.

I also use it's FX loop to run everything but OD, compression and my Nocturne brain AFTER the amp's output stage.

Thanks for the kind words. This will be my last picture with the ugly carpet in my office, i'm putting down hardwood this weekend.

It may look okay in the picture but it's not so nice in person and i've been wanting to rip it out for ages. I think the cab may sound better, too, if it's acoustically coupled to a solid floor rather than the carpet.

JCM2000 TSL-122, and a Mesa TA-15 5-25w head. I use an A/B switch from the pedalboard. The TA-15 drives the Marshall 2x12 cab.
