Might just look at it like a blessing in disguise but that response would have set off my douchbag alert. Unless this guy is a total cherry getting ask one question about his amp might be the easiest part of his day. There are folks who might make him feel like he's getting sitting on a dunking stool bombarded with multitudes of actual tech questions. My first reaction might have been to apologize to him for waking him up from a sound sleep.

It's the French influence in Canadian culture. For example surrendeur.

Sorry I couldn't resist. I was partly raised by my WW2 veteran grandfather.

When he asked if you were a buyer or questuioner I would have said I'm certainly not a buyer now jackass... Sorry man I just have no time for fools like that. I'm sure you'll find a far better deal from someone else anyway. I've bought on reverb and had great experiences. Always a #@&* head in the crowd somewhere.

Lol. Not sure if you're serious, but it's actually the English (proper) way to spell those words.

I'd ask him if he'd like to trade for a one of a kind custom made guitar.

Is that a guitar made out of a potato, or is it a potato made out of a guitar?

On another note, is there a used gear buying guide someone can refer me to? I always buy new gear from somewhere like Sweetwater. I generally like to buy new so it can be mine from the beginning so I can be the one to scratch it up. I don't understand Reverb, eBay, etc. I would like to get a Gibson Les Paul at some point (probably a decade or longer), but I can't afford the price of a new Gibson and I don't want to be scammed.

My apologies if this post derails the thread or needs to be moved.

Sorry,.......I just had to chime in with my latest CL experience. In my listing for an amp I wrote; E-mail preferred, but if yo call, leave a message". The first caller left this. "Uh, yeah, hello.....I was calling to see about the amp. (*click*)

Report it to Reverb. I buy and sell on Reverb all the time. In my experience, people who post items as "not returnable" and then eschew questions are a problem.

Reverb will normally take a second peek at a seller like this.

I've bought two LP's on Reverb. One was a good price. It's an R7. My only complaint was that the 2016 Gold Tops aren't the same colour gold as some of the earlier ones. Otherwise it's a great guitar. The second one I paid a lot for and I'll get it tomorrow. I'm hoping it too will be a good experience.

I've also bought four Strats on Reverb. All except one were great guitars and the prices I paid were fair. The one Reverb deal that didn't go well was a Strat that I thought was Lake Placid Blue turned out to be some awful greenish blue colour with a 5 way switch that wouldn't work. I sent it back and got a full refund.

I've bought one Strat on Ebay and it was a bit high in price but it was a great guitar.

To sum it up there are good guitars available online. The biggest red flag I can suggest would be poor communication. If the guy isn't honest I think a bunch of questions and an assessment of the sellers desire to communicate are good ways to find the best deals with the best outcome.

Anyhow I hope you get your dream LP sometime soon! Best of luck to you!
