In all likelihood, there was probably some celestial phenomenon like full moon (it's supposed to be really awesome at White Sands), or the larger planets line up, or somein' like dat.

Too scared of him gettin' loose!:run:

OOUUUUCCCCHHHH! I've heard those hurt like sum guns :Ohno:

We have a large population of scorpions down here and my experience is with striped bark scorpions. Their sting causes a lot more than just a little numbness...it hurts like a mofo.

Scorpions. Yeah, I get 'em. Every once in a while, one will find its way under an ill-fitting door. I've come across four of them in the house in ten years. Little ones, they are the worst.

Now, out in the field, that's another story altogether. I frequently run across them in meter boxes and vaults we have out here. They tend to be rather large.

Well, lobster and crayfish are supposed to have evolved from cockroaches! Might boil up a few and give them a try~

Perhaps @ehb could lead all the scorps out of the meter boxes and vaults; he does have a history of such service in Ireland, you know

That is truth. There are scorpions and then there are Bark Scorpions. They don't get very big and the smaller young ones are the worse pain wise. They can live for six months without food. They carry their babies on their backs so even if you kill the mother the tiny little ones can scatter. They can get through openings a thin as a credit card. The claim below is true. It's exactly the reaction my wife had from a bark scorpion sting.

The venom of the Arizona bark scorpion is dangerous for humans. Besides causing severe pain in the affected area, there is tingling, vomiting and general illness that can last from one to three days.

How old do you think that little bugger was ?

I'm thinking that a scorp' that small might be a baby.
There might be a few more of those lurking around. Maybe with a momma.

    Keep yur eyes peeled.

On my kitchen floor recently... playing in some dog fur...

Picked it up and put it outside, otherwise my young son will try to keep it as a pet in a paper cup.

    Cheers
