You need to name this Evil. After the one thing on this planet that actually had more pins in it holding it together....

Cherry will show those off too.

Still not much new, not allowed to make dust yet per the Doc but I reamed out this blown out tuner hole and doweled it so I can re drill it properly. I used a face grain old growth mahogany plug and tried to match the grain as well as I could. I also plugged a hole in the body where they just filled a 3/8" hole with bondo... Jackasses so it will be visible for sure but at least I'll be able to dye it... Also used a face grain plug for that one as well. Back to the Dr. This week so im hoping he give me the go ahead and then I can blast off the rest of the bondo and sand, grainfill and dye it this week/weekend!

Well, no new progress but today I was cleared by the doctor no more restrictions! This see I will be refuelling the tuner hole, scraping the rest of the darn bondo off getting the body sanded and I'll grainfill. Then it's time to start mixing dye to find the right shade of cherry.

Necro bump since I finally worked on her a bit! After weighing my options and considering them I decided to keep this to as low a budget as i can and continue to search and save for an unmolested jr. Well my progress was fixing the plug I installed that crumbled when i tried to ream it to size, then start working on the line geometry around where 17 pieces of wood 5 pounds of Bondi and 187 dowels came together.... The neck joiint! So I,just simply made a pencil line on the top and sanded back to it until I got my new line! Hopefully i will, get the dowel sanded flush, new tuner hole marked and drilled this week then in can, prep the body for paint . 0726172229.jpg

Well, we have tuners on. Its about 1 mm lower than the tuner for the B string... Reamer drifted a little on me. Doh... Well its gonna live its life this way. If somehow we can get 5 minutes where its not 85 and thunderstorming ill get the first round of paint on next week. White, grainfiller, mist coat of tv, possibly little more grainfiller, mist coats of tv until I'm happy. Then gloss clear and a few coats of amber clear. Few more months and ill be playing her! 0803171830.jpg

Glad to see you are back to it. Hope your recovery went well. I'll be watching this project.
GT's and Specials are my favorite Gibbys. Hard to beat those old P90s.
