I did that, didn't get me anywhere. They told me to call Amazon, and I said "I did." and they said "Oh, okay, good luck then." :laugh2: Not exactly, but close!

The girl, I know, so she's taking care of me.

Sorry to hijack, and that is one AWESOME Jag. :thumb::thumb::applause:

I am the King of Hijack - how could I ever get mad about such a thing! :laugh2:

And, thanks. This Jag turned out pretty sweet for a total amateur job!

Just got home from work, and this is the first thing I clicked on. LOVE the mint guard, goes perfectly with the Sherwood Green!

On the downside, wish I could help you out financially, getting kinda tight for us as well. Just found out our daughter's gonna need $1200 of dental work FOR STARTERS, and insurance don't cover it. Perfect. I'd love to get that Talman, but I don't think it'll happen.

Love the Jag, tho, nice job!!

Thanks NXC - I love the mint!

Captain, funny you mention that, my son chipped my wife's tooth with a mug last night - off to the dentist here shortly... :laugh2:

    Life....

Hey Dice, great job - especially considering the rattle can approach. I am assuming that these have some resell value. Does your refin job harm the value? If you keep them to play - no big deal. I have a certain Strat that has me wondering? :hmm: But it's not even as vintage as your stuff.

If I was in the market for a vintage jag I'd rather have one with the matching headstock in a great color like this. I'd say it improved the value, but what do I know.

You really did a fantastic job on that! I think the pearl guard looks pretty good, but the mint MAKES the guitar.

    Thanks Cycnic!

As for the value of the guitar, it is worth more now assembled than it was as a stripped body and face refinished neck.

If I had rebuilt it with entirely vintage parts, it would not be worth as much together as it was in parts. Having it fairly well refinished and complete with old wood and repro parts, I think it is easily worth the $1200 or so I have in to it.

    Hey dice.
What would that 73 Mustang be worth if I had it refinished?

Well Dice it doesn't look like i'm part of the offset club anymore. I traded my project Mustang and $700 for a like new 07' LP Standard factory P90's Goldtop. I didn't have the time to take on a project at the moment.
    Your's turned out looking great

Well, I spent a good chunk of the day bringing back this guitar's battle scars in all their glory! :laugh2:

I only filled a couple of very large dings on this guitar prior to refinishing it - the rest of the dings I left alone and painted over them. Of course, after finishing, it was easy to see where these dents and dings and scrapes were at. So, now, the original dents and dings and deep scratches are back as they were when the guitar had its original finish.

I figure that it'll check through my "normal" use. :laugh2:

It has crossed my mind, though - but I think I'll just let it happen. I'd rather leave it in my car and get a crappy checking pattern than put it in the freezer and get a crappy pattern. I'd be pissed if I "intentionally" came up with a pattern which looked bad... If it just happens, oh well. If I knew that I'd get a nice pattern, I'd check it in a heartbeat, though. We'll see... it could still happen.
