No such animal as a cr5 or cr6. Very few cloud 9 or chambered '59 specs. Now CR8...eBay should have a few. Check Rainbow Guitars online. I bought one from them some time ago around $3200. Guitar was incredible. Old timey top, great hollow toppy tone.

I'd agree they are hard to find. Even harder to find in a store to play. Best of luck on your search, let us know how it goes.

I nice light les paul is a JOY. I have a 7.5lb chambered and and a 7.6 non chambered, and it is tough to strap on a 9lb guitar for any length of time.

If you're patient while keeping an eye out for them, they do pop up from time to time. Dave's Guitar Shop and Mark's Guitar Loft are good places to check frequently. My most recent CR8 is a 2011 plaintop purchased from Dave's for about $2400, so they can be found at relatively affordable prices, too.

I have a CR6, with the cool serial number CR66006. Best guitar I have ever played. I will sell a kidney before before I consider parting with it.
And that may be your problem!

They don't pop up for sale very often, however I did buy a 2006 goldtop CR7 just last month and a 2004 CR8 last fall. Both were under $2300. You just have to keep your eye out.

They're easier to find than a light BB4. Easier still than finding a light BB4 when I have money....2014 will be the year I find one.

I was shopping used CR8's earlier this winter. It seems like the killer flame tops go in the low $3k range, while the plain tops go in the mid $2k range. I ended up with a flame from a fellow forum member...fantastic guitar, and easy on the shoulder!:D They pop up in the classified section here sometimes...just have to check regularly as they sell fairly quickly.

got mine from the HOG. it's classified as a "lightly flamed" CR8. at some anghles the flames are a lot less visible and other angles its a beauty.

give them a shout and let them know what you're looking for. they might have what you want.
