So a combination of opportunity, impulsiveness and just a bit of odd timing will result in the acquisition of 3 new Les Pauls over the next few weeks/months. While this is great on the surface, I feel a bit of anxiety to the tune of:

How will I be able to play and enjoy all of these?? I will now have 4 LPs.

Perhaps a good problem to have but a problem nonetheless. For those of you with many guitars, how do you juggle your attention to them?

(I plan on posting threads as they arrive)

    Thanks!

I have 8 LPs alone, and over 20 guitars/basses total. I keep them all hung on the wall. Keeping them in plain sight allows me to never forget which I've played recently, and which ones are "due". It also allows me to monitor when they need servicing, cleaning, etc.

Good idea- so do they get dusty up there on the wall? I like the idea of seeing them out.....

Get a die or several dice depending on how many guitars you have. Number each of your guitars. Roll the die or dice. Whatever you roll, play the guitar with the matching number.

I have too many too... But as I cannot play them all at the same time, I do let them be payed by other musicians live or studio.

Instruments are meant to be played or stored in their cases.

I'm getting toward 25 guitars made from scratch (not all LP's of course) plus a few 'real' ones as well. I find a range of pickup types and constructions allows you to have a range of guitars for certain genres of music.

I have only one really nice LP that has set the bar sorta high for the next one. I still GAS for another LP but, choose to go for variety in styles, tone, feel, etc., of others besides LPs. I had more guitars at one time, though I have now decided (at least for now) that the six, soon to be seven, are more than enough to fill all my "main" wants/needs........for now anyway.

Another LP is always on my Radar though.

    blessing.

lifes too short to not indulge in what makes you happy. i remember wishing i could afford a real Gibson, or Marshall etc. it was fulfilling nd humbling when i actually bought it. now whether my skills warrant such epic kit is for a different discussion. per above suggestions, i rotate the lil buggers. hanging them on hangers allows them to get dusty too, which gives me an excuse to clean em, which i enjoy as much as playing them.

Not too bad, but mostly because I play them all so regularly, and when I do, I usually do a quick clean.

Part of the fun is playing them all and deciding which one(s) are your favorite. But they are all fun to own.

I try to keep mine on a good rotation depending on my mood. Practicing on 2-3 a night. I store most of them in their cases and if I haven't played one in a while I can pretend it's a NGD.

First: you can't have too many guitars. I rotate playing them by the mood I'm in or the type of music I feel like playing. Some get played more than others, but they all get their turn making music. ENJOY!!!
