    Nope.

Aside from the little bits here and there, he mostly played traditional colored Les Pauls...tobacco burst, cherry burst, and ebony.

Well there goes that idea. The Tommy sparkle still looks like a nice guitar, nonetheless...even if he is an impostor.

This is all very well, but when are Gibson going to knock up a Paul Stanley Firebird as shown on the cover of Alive? I'd buy one, I've got the chest hair to go with it!*

*A bit grey now, I admit.

Good point, forgot to mention Sean. They were all brought on board by Bill though.

They weren't exactly flooded with offers at that point. Bill Aucoin was the only one interested. As for Gene, it was all bull$hit. It was innovative, but at that point he was already building Kiss up to be something they weren't. From the fake press kit to being the headline band at the diplomat, it was all smoke and mirrors. At that point Kiss had one thing going for them, great songs. The image was very rough, and it was Bill Aucoin's team that polished that image and made them what they are today.

Not quite true. Tommy was playing the same guitars as Ace until recently, sunbursts, black beauty, etc., which coincidentally is what Ace used. That said, Tommy also used those guitars in his Black and Blue days.

    Like this one? Not...

I was a minor fan of Black 'N Blue back in the day, primarily because I was a huge KISS fan and followed every other sh*t band they touched in some way shape or form (Keel, White Tiger, Vinnie Vincent Invasion to name some others).

If you dont have the stomach for that whole link, fast forward to the 3-minute mark and catch the guitar work and axe around 3:15.

Enjoy that signature axe Tommy...you earned it.

I only recently learned that Sean Delaney was Bill Auccoin's partner. I had no idea Bill was gay.

Oh I agree, but Gene had a plan and it did work.

Then Aucoin, Bogart, Delaney, etc really made the band work.

But no Gene and there's no Bill.

I did the same kind of stuff...Vinnie Vincent Invasion, Badlands, etc.

I will say Union and Bruce Kulick's solo stuff are both really good. The Eric Carr CD could've been great, but most of the songs were unfinished sadly.

At one time I had like 20 albums that were Kiss related including all of Peter's solo stuff...which was nearly all crap.

It just occurred to me that Tommy looks a little like George Lynch in that video I posted. Too bad Don Dokken didn't come knocking first. Too bad he doesn't play like him.

If you dye his hair yellow he looks like Don Dokken too.

And if he did try to imitate George Lynch, I think George would break him in half....

I've always been a big GL / Dokken fan...but he's got a bad habbit of noodling to much. Just play the damn song already!...sheesh.

    There...I said it :)

I saw Dokken once with Red Beach on guitar.

    Man, that dude could SMOKE!

Speaking of guitars that smoke, I just bought this CD today:

Quite possibly the worst KISS performance I have ever seen. Worst. Ever. Mr Stanley needs to advance that search for his replacement.

PS. Can you believe they'd put this up as an 'exclusive'?
