Ron is a world class luthier. His work is amazing. Which makes it amazing that his prices as well as wait times are not astronomical. One of the few small operations I would trust to build a custom.

Happy with mine. It's not going anywhere. Nothing but good things to say about Ron and the whole build process from start to finish.

Congrats! You are getting the bet of the best with a Torn guitar. Highly regarded and respected.

Gloss on the neck. Here's Ron's pics before he shipped it.

    Here's mine :

    Specs:

Korina Body (Chambered) & SET Neck.
    1-pc. Tremolo.
Sperzel locking tuners with straight string-pull.
    10”-14” Compound radius fretboard ~ 25" scale.
    Medium-fat neck carve .840 - .930
    22 hand-polished fret with hidden fret-ends.
German nickel silver fret wire (.095 wide x .047 tall)

I've been hearing about Ron Thorn for years now. I think I've tried every boutique guitar I've wanted to with the exception of a Gustavsson Bluesmaster 59 Custom and I dont think i'll ever have $10,000 handy to and the damn things hold their value so:sadwave: . I need another guitar right now like I need a hole in my head. This one just checked all my boxes (Tele Pauls really yank my chain) including my favorite color.......honey burst AND the seller wanted something else I had so I'm now in Brown truck waiting mode. :hyper:

This one reminded me of a Tom Anderson Cobra except its a set neck . What do you guys think of Rons Pick ups? No need to upgrade?

Had a couple options when I ordered mine. Went with the low wind, don't remember what he called them. They're still in the guitar, didn't hear any reason to switch. But no experience with his humbuckers.

I had an Orca once and it was awesome. I was on a roll to try as many cool guitars as I could back then, i was just "renting "them. I regret selling a few and the Orca was one of them. Another big regret was a Heatley 59 LP . I'd kill to have that one back.

These are great looking Thorns. I'd love to try and Huber and I'm sure the Heatley 59 was bonkers

I was lucky enough to order an Artisan before Ron stopped doing them. Was a long time waiting for the right piece of wood to turn up, but when it did:
