Yup, title explains it. A few years ago, I had Mark @ Frugal Amps build me a Vox AC4 circuit into an old hammond AO44 chassis. Last year, I had an itch to scratch... we emailed back and forth, and I managed to convince him to fit a Matchless Spitfire circuit into the same chassis. So, after I got it back... I chopped up a vintage tacklebox and made it a make shift head. At this time, it just sits inside freely without being anchored. Now I'd like to finish it. I'm on the fence as to whether I should make it properly fit in the tackle box and make a custom cab, or start over and crank it out as a cool small combo.

The things or ideas are endless. I guess some outside influence could be great. What would y'all do? What resources would you pull from? The cab is an avatar cube with a 12" in it. I'm not in love with the aesthetics of it really. And the chassis? It sounds amazing, and deserves a better place to call home.

Not trying to be debbie downer here..

But won't the metal tackle box get kinda hot being on the smallish side and there being no venting/s.

Nope. Along with the front cutout, there's also a larger one in the back. So it naturally gets adequate ventilation. Besides that, I always open the top and run it like a convertible. I wondered about the heat at first to. Now, with top down it will get the box warm...but not hot. Im sure its cooler to the touch than some of the ammo can boxes that are out there.

that's what I'm thinking to. I'd reshape the wood under the chassis to fit the curve on the bottom of the tacklebox. Bringing the chassis forward to fit nicely. after that, build a ratty speaker box. Im thinking about using the dark tapestry in the background as grill cloth.

Different knobs are also on the list.
