    red llama into an already hot/crunch channel... I loved it into an HT5, it took that fizzy-ness away and left this thick, stoner metal tone.

    Not the most gain but more than you'll ever need (easily enough for metal) & the thickest fattest tastiest gain tone ever,
    Sure Riot Reloaded, my #1 go to drive pedal.

    That was the first one which popped into my brain. In particular the FX69. The FX69B and the Digitech version are also very cool but, not as over the top as the original FX69.
