I'll tell you Aussies how the the cites works in a week or so.
It came and I think it is pretty nice. Wish it was a 1 piece body and weird that Edwards sprays over their "relicing", but it plays and sounds good. The maple slab 2-piece 60's style neck really seems out of place with everything else being 50's style, though.
Serial on the back?
Any stamps on the neck?
Might be a neck swap.
My Riverhead relicing was lacquer sprayed over too...hated it so I refinished it.
Yes, serial says it's a 2015. I'm a little too lazy to take apart a guitar I like right after getting it Not much comes up when you google this model, but the couple hits I found did have the same style of neck, so I don't think it is a swap.
The other funny thing about this guitar is that it has a really big router bump out / hump on the treble side neck pocket. Just another 50s-style kink they threw in there.
Maybe it's just some parts Edwards threw together, but they usually seem to get the basic fetaures right on their tribute/replica models, so I thought this might be trying to emulate some famous guitar. But the Edwards Jeff Beck tele w/ humbuckers also has a neck like this one, and I don't know if that is accurate to the original.
Could not resist this one. Has the right look, I think. I'll play it till the neck cracks worse and it needs glued, I guess.
Called Hiroaki and asked him to put this 1981 Springy ST-60 YS on hold for Thomas. Should arrive before the weekend.
Nice one Thomas! Did I push you over the edge with mine?
Someone at the store got a bit confused about this one I'd guess. Wish it was mine!
You made me aroused with that ST-60 YS, Yellow Sunburst ( Bedbug color) Andy. Round horn RLG-50 and ST-60 is probably as good as it gets.
Link Harold posted, work it does not.
It was a 1981 Tokai LS-150 that sold for 102,000 yen at Ishibashi. The link is dead now but I found this image. It looked very nice.
So glad I didn't see that one as they don't ship rosewood to europe anymore because of cites..
Would have been a very frustrating moment..
CITEs seems to have made this particular thread pretty slow these days.
I haven't had any issues,,,,,yet. I have had three guitars with rosewood boards, shipped by SEA from Japan to Canada with no problems.
I was wondering if there were any issues. Good to know. The CBSA is having enough problems with our borders to worry about rosewood guitar fretboards.
No kidding Eh Harold!
Running out of excuses not to buy anymore guitars!
That didn't take too long.
Ha, nice one!
Atta boy Harold, can't keep a good man down!
