Hey guys, i just checked the controls in my two Navigators and i cant figure out what is the type of wiring in the 2007 model. Is it the same as on the 1999?

Here is the 1999 which i suppose is the standard modern wiring with Lollar Imperials:

And this is the 2007 one with 57 classics which i don't understand what it is:

CTS pots, PIO caps by what looks to be Nichicon, can't see the switch or jack, but willing to bet Switchcraft. Connections seem to be in their proper place, but I read circuits about as well as I read Japanese.

Looks to be standard Navigator wiring.

Are the E-Lp-SD125 models considered to be good quality Edwards guitars? I found one for $700 shipped that I’m interested in but I’m not sure if that’s a good price for them or not.

Its one of their top models. The price seems to be ok, slightly under normal market price.
I am sure you can sell it for this price again if you dont like it.

The Navigators with "Limited" on the headstock are the better one to have?

not necessarily .. during the 90s, before the limited series, they made some superb guitars to order, these are just as good if not better in some cases than the limited series, especially as far as tops and flames are concerned...also some of the early 80s high end models are also amazing, the main difference in the limited series is a fatter neck in general, although some of the 90s order made guitars are also pretty chunky..

How do you determine if one is a custom ordered guitar from the normal production line?

the tops are crazy.. as far as i can see there was not really a standard production model for navigator throughout the 90's it was pretty sporadic stuff... they tended to make what was requested by the client from ESP and badge it as either navigator or as ESP depending on what the client wanted... unlike the limited series which saw them return to more of a standard production system for the Navigator brand with the 380s, there were still the special order 580s, 700s, and above that anything you wanted them to make if you were prepared to pay the money...

1D6E7DB0-41C6-4814-BD92-2EDA5BCBEC93.jpeg Taking my chance to post my Navigator strat here (the thread said ‘anything’ Edwards and Navigator). It has become my #1 guitar, but I’ve no idea what year it is. The tuners says «made in w germany», so my guess is before 1990. When I got it the frets were worn out, and the pickups sounded like crap. Had it refretted and gave it new electronics, Amber pickups and a new pickguard, now it sounds and plays great. The decal is gone, but you can see traces of the Navigator-logo in bright sunlight.

Btw, pictures of the neckplate and the tuners are taken by the previous owner.

Nice guitar, those are Schaller tuners. How do you like that Ibanez amp?

Yeah, Schaller tuners, ash body, aged Olympic White nitro finish, medium-sized C-shaped maple neck with 9,5" rosewood fretboard. Only seen one similar Navigator on the internet, that one was from 1976.

I like my Ibanez amp, but truth be told, at home I usually plug into my Blackstar HT1R with headphones. Kids need their sleep, apparently.
