OK everyone...we are all guilty of derailing other poster's threads via going off on tangents regarding discussing and/or ID'ing their own or other Burny guitars.

It is all very interesting stuff for sure but I thought if we make a unique thread where anyone and everyone can jump in without guilt or frustration of derailing and post pics, discuss ideas, and generally theorize the dates, models, pots, cavities, pickups, and anything else related to Burny then the other NGD or specific question based threads could stay on topic to the OP's post and question(s).

Does this seem fair and reasonable for everyone? :thumb:
So start posting anything Burny related people!
Got pics, questions, and theories then slap em down in here and let's keep this thread bumped up unless someone would be kind enough to sticky it?

    Damn good idea UDO......I Concurr!!!

Lets start this thread with a good un then...

I have been stalking this one ,the headstock has been changed to a FIBSON one ,but it what was it originally ...going form the photos link in the auction it has one very noticable feature!!!The neck tennon construction is typicial TOKAI ...but it i reckon it is a tokai made burny from late 1978-1979.
No fret binding ,looks like a one piece solid top, hard to tell, seller says two piece HONDURAN MAHOGANY back in the auction listing.
Appears there is a lack of fret egde binding ,so the specs kinda do not add up?The frets do run over the binding ,so maybe a refret!Looks like 18 degree headstock, but hard to tell.might be a FLG-60 .

By the way i am not calling dibs on this guitar ,it is open for anyone to bid on it ,hold you horses UDO! LOL.

Haha no dibs here mate, I have to resist anyway man.
The 3 I just bought over the past week were all just so cheap that I fell off the wagon!
I still have 4 more to sell but the last 3 I sold got me totally out of debt :D

Oh and the tuners look like late 70s Grovers/Grover style tuners found on Burny and Arias.

You know what? I think that is a Greco custom made!
I have only ever witnessed 2, and they sold for good $$ on Yahoo, where they both had the stock stinger and the inlay in the back exactly like that.
They were both on an ES175 style guitar but Greco did that exact layout as well. I bet you it also had a refret as well.

Yeah for sure but Greco's and Tokai's are much easier to date and figure out model #'s are they generally have serial numbers and info in the cavities.
Burny's are the most elusive out of all the MIJ's in my opinion.
Perhaps that was all planned out? :hmm:

    Oh yeah. I'm sure.

    :laugh2:

Personally, I think they were doing their best just to stay in business. And not get caught by Gibsun attorneys. :)

There is absolutely no reason that it shouldn't man.
Just remember, we all have different tastes and favourites but we are all here bound by a common love and interest, ya?
The love of these fine ass MIJ lumber harps :D
