Yeah, I'm not here much anymore for a variety of reasons including the lack of a notification function the Like button provided - plus seeing all the ads my Premium Membership now entitles me to enjoy. It makes looking at the site on my phone a nightmare as that I rarely am on MLP on my home computer.

Pretty sure this is the only site I hangout on which doesn't have some kind of a Like button/notification system....

But hey, it is what it is and the owner can run his joint however he wants - it's just too bad the Mods have taken the brunt of the unpopularity of this temporary situation in the name of improvement....

I'm just the reverse. I rarely us my phone to get on MLPF (or the web in general), even less to post, I'm using my Mac at home for a majority of my web surfing.

Peter Frampton Premieres New Song, "I Saved a Bird Today"

"A while back, a bird crashed though Peter Frampton's window. That experience—and the guitarist's efforts to help the defenseless animal—led to a new song, “I Saved a Bird Today.”

Today, GuitarPlayer.com presents the exclusive premiere of the track, plus Frampton's just-announced tour dates, all of which you can check out below.

The song, which features a melodic acoustic guitar solo that starts at the 2:50 marker, strikes the ear as a nod to a few of Frampton's influences and friends; there's a touch of Django Reinhardt in the intro and an unmistakable smattering of what can only be called "George Harrison chords" during the verse (2:26).

"'To care for one another is the reason we are here’—this lyric sums up the song for me," Frampton says.

"We are all in uncharted territory right now. ‘Perhaps today, [the bird] was on her way to rescue me,’ which doesn’t seem too far off from what we all need. Politeness and caring for each other cannot be a thing of the past. I can’t explain how great the feeling was to have saved a life. Peace, love and truth trump hate every time.”

The new tour dates include a relaunch of Peter Frampton Raw: An Acoustic Tour, which features longtime collaborator Gordon Kennedy and Peter's guitar-playing son, Julian. Frampton also will tour with the Steve Miller Band this summer. See below for full routing details and visit Frampton.com.

"I Saved a Bird" today will be available via Amazon and iTunes Friday, March 10.

Damn!! Friday June 30th Turning Stone Casino. 35-40 min drive from me.
Seen The Moody Blues there. Outstanding acoustics. Gotta look into that one.:fingersx:
Think it's 12- 1500 seating. No "bad" seats really.
Thanks for posting that up!! :cheers2:

While watching Peter's new song, this popped up. I don't think I had ever come across this show before. There is also a part 2 and part 3.

I'm not really a huge fan of acoustic music, but I did enjoy Acoustic Classics a lot more than I thought I would. I went ahead and got a ticket to see Peter's acoustic tour next month, so we'll see how all of that sounds live.

You're in my neck of the woods JC!

I work in the Golf Department for my retirement job; hoping my wife and I can make that show!? I'll have to see if I can get a couple of days off.

Thanks for the post and :cheers2:

    GREAT FIND!

I think you'll enjoy it Framp. My wife and I certainly did. I completely understand why he chose the songs he did, but I would have preferred that he did some different material. He's written so many great acoustic songs, it would have been nice to see him perform some of them live. Having typed that though, we'd definitely go see it again.

Hopefully we'll be able to see him in June with Steve Miller?

Thanks for the post and :cheers2:

Peter Frampton Releases Video of "I Saved a Bird Today"

    BY Michael Molenda

    March 30, 2017

'Peter Frampton's latest single is a true story about saving an American Coot that had flown into a window of his Nashville home.

"This is how the song sounded as Gordon [Kennedy, Frampton collaborator] were writing it," Frampton told Billboard. "It's so much fun to play, and I love that’s it a true story about caring and compassion—which we need more of today."'

I went to Peter's acoustic show in Cleveland Tuesday night. At the start of the show, Peter said it would be a half Unplugged, half Storytellers show. He spent as much time talking as he did playing, but it really worked well. As you can imagine, he's got plenty of interesting stories to tell. Of course, his playing was superb, too.

Peter's son Julian opened the show with a half hour set. He joined Peter later on for a couple of numbers. Peter's co-writer/producer Gordon Kennedy played guitar and sang backup vocals for most of the show.

While I prefer his "plugged in" sound, the show was enjoyable and well worth the money.

Well, I've been away for a while; quite a different look and I see the like button is back. Nice!

Glad to read you enjoyed the show Framp! Do you remember the set-list? Was Julian's co-writer with him as well?

My favorite album of all-time, not to mention the best live album ever recorded IMHO. The only other one that could possibly be better is this one:

Julian's co-writer was there and played the piano.

As far as Peter's set list is concerned, he didn't do anything too out of the ordinary except for covers of Norwegian Wood and Peggy Sue.

His co-writer is from upstate New York (I think Schenectady?), the night my wife and I saw them in Albany, his music teacher and his friends were there. Had to be pretty cool for him I would think?

I'm sure I posted this, but... The setlist from that night:
