    Wow. This is incredible.
What mounting rings are installed on those beauties?
    Everything looks fantastic.
    Congrats.

The cherry Burst got the tuners right?

    :hmm: so far...1960 Klusons,Sheds,OTP rings,AVH guard,'58 studs,'66 reflectors,RetroSpec thumbwheels,1960 switchtip.

I've replaced the inlays and installed a '50's switchtip since this photo was taken.

Pots and caps are currently stock, but not for long.

I really like this one so the next big mod will be a Makeover...

Well, I thought my R8 was set, but I had to make one more small mod.

I added some Uncle Lou Premium Tuner Tips that I got from Retrospec. I'm very pleased.....

It's a little off center, but you get the idea.

Gibson IMO should call a guitar a reissue only if it is built like the original.

The 1968 LP Custom never came in ANY other color than black, nor did they come with nickel hardware or Grover tuners or top hat knobs. :mad2:

That being said, I'm glad they got most of it right! :) I converted mine to look like an original .... and now they have reissued the waffleback tuners, so I may have to mod that next!

I still need to change the pick guard bracket to gold as well!

    These are great guitars!!

Great looking guitars guys, thanks for adding them!

The nut on your R9 (unless it was changed by someone) should be Corian. They switched to nylon (on Histiorics) in 2009, and never came with stock bone as far as I know...

It's not difficult, but it does take a little know how, and the correct tools. I would suggest unless you are very handy, and have the tools, you have an experienced luthier do it for you. It shouldn't take him very long, and there for not cost you very much.
